Rhetorical: What does it mean to have good technique? Aside from the basic physics of the thing (ex. low to high), good technique means little. From a textbook standpoint, Davenport's forehand, Nadal's forehand, Federer's backhand, and Justine's backhand are all horrible shots! Davenport and Nadal often whip above their head, while off-balance, and falling off the ball... both produce to very different shots with a similiar action, but from a technical standpoint... no one would ever teach you!

Most tennis principles exist, in order to enable average players to make shots with fair consistency. Venus' record and ability (along with those aforementioned), shows she is not average and more than fairly consistent. However, I will say, she along with the rest of the woman's game needs more spin, always flat and hard isn't getting it done these days.

the only fat person that comes to mind is Capriati, and she didn't get fat until the very end.
There were alot of soon to be greats when they were coming up...in 2002, I think I counted 43 GS titles in the top 10 alone.
They could have also done alot more by now had they not been injured so much.
