most fields and tournies don't allow you to pick up guns, opened pods, or balls off the ground. as soon as it leaves the person it becomes dead. i think closed pods are fine if you are handing them, but im not sure when they touch the ground.

False. The only thing your not allowed to do it pick up guns, as players are required to take their equipment (Pods are the expection) off the field, a player cannot drop a pod on the field after he is dead. But all paint on the field (Poded or otherwise) is free game.

Correct. Paintballs on the ground are free-game. Just because someone's local field does not allow it doesn't mean that professional leagues are the same. Most fields have that rule simply to prevent rented guns/hoppers from being damaged.

this convo is stupid but hey we're on youtube. The ball would have less gas escape around it, but it would also have a lot more drag in the barrel, not aerodynamic or rigid so speed would drop off massively AS SOON as it exited the barrel if it didnt' explode.

I think you're taking that rule a bit too literally. At almost every PSP event I've attended, I've witnessed plays use paint off the ground when they ran out of their own in both pro games and lower divisions. Not once have I seen a ref call it.

sorry, but wantedsponge, yes, SEALs are trained much better and with real guns more accurate. But with paintball guns it is a little different, so pro paintballers are probably going to be more accurate with a paintball gun compared to non paintball players, even SEALs

and yeah the navy seals point immediately falls. They are more accurate with guns not markers, if you take a navy seal and a paintballer, and have them both do an accuracy test by throwing boomerangs, then you have some kind of proof as to inherent accuracy, but not with rifles or markers.

P.s rifle accuracy is a joke, if it will reach that far, give me 2 rounds and a decent scope and I'll hit it, you aim and pull the trigger, adjust for windage and speed and do it again, it's point and click

Paintball guns have less power. The reason SEALs have the 3 shot patter, 2 to the chest 1 to the head is for a certain kill. Shoot someone twice and they can still kill you, shoot them twice then in the head while they cant shoot, no hope of any retaliation. Also, paintballing is a sport, your comparison is like bike riding to motorbike riding, you wont die riding a bike (paintball) unless extreme circumstances occur, but you can die easily on a motorbike (SEAL Comparison)

If your comparing paintballs accuracy to real guns with just a couple shots, then yes real guns are more accurate. But, if you tried to make a handheld machinegun that could fire even close to the speed of some guns (30 balls a second) it would have so much recoil you couldnt control it, which is where paintball guns excel. Pro paintballers would murder navy seals in paintball hands down every single game. Navy seals would beat paintballers in a gunfight with real guns.

accuracy is basically perceived kick, anything else is just a bore match and evenness of the explosion behind the projectile be that air or powder. Once it exits the barrel it all counts on the projectile, period. So paintball guns aren't directly comparable to real guns in terms of accuracy for any purposes because there's no inherent accuracy in a gun, any gun, most attempts to disprove that simply affect kick. Either rifle or marker, if it's well built, it's shooting straight, the ammo isn't.
