I know musicians that don't even like the rock genre of music who will attest to that.

It IS The Alice Cooper BAND!

Ernest, what I mean is that they are all participating. If you know anything about Alice Cooper, the reason the band split up is that the BAND members took a backseat to Alice's show whereas in the beginning they were all part of the stage theater. Read up.

Well the main reasons for the breakup where that the band wanted to drop the theatrics and Alice didn't, members started solo albums, and the band felt they didn't get any of the spotlight, it was always Alice. Many reasons, it was actually never actually said by anyone that they would break up but in mid 1974 they went on "a break." They were sick of constant touring and cranking out album after album. They like many bands today get exhausted to death from working NON STOP!

They've said in interviews that they wanted to keep progressing with the music, as you say, less theatrics where they were in the background. I saw Dennis Dunaway play before an Alice Cooper concert this past Sept. He's still got his chops. Neal Smith has played recently too. All great.

Dunaway and Bruce have refuted the lie that they wanted to drop the theatrics for years, but fans still repeat the lie. Take a look at the Billion Dollar Baby tour - it was very theatrical. The reality is that the band didn't want to be treated like hired hands.....

Well I think they may have been sick of people claiming that they hide behind theatrics. Also it was because they weren't getting any attention, Alice got all of it. But in reality they knew that was coming. The worst thing is when people call the Alice Cooper Group, Alice Cooper.
