For a 97 basic LT-1 motor the horsepower rating should be at 285 HP. Now if it is a true SS/SLP it should be putting out 305 to 310 HP. If you truly are one of the very lucky owners of the very rare 97 SS/SLP with the LT-4 engine package, you should be putting out 330 HP which is underrated supposively because of the LS1 that was to appear in the Camaro the next year. There was only 106 including 2 prototypes for the Camaro with the engine and i believe 26 or 28 Firehawks with that package.
automatic or manual it would be the same engine just different transmission dumb ass... manual would probably be faster, but they both have same engines... unless it's SS
I really like the sound of yours is it factory catback system too? My friends selling his but I could never afford the insurance as I'm in college at the moment. I have a 95 firebird with a 383 450HP engine in it haha so imagine the cost! Let me know when you post more videos if you already haven't cause I'd like to see!
The 285 hp factory rating is the amount of hp the engine produces at the flywheel. The amount of horsepower put to the rear tires is quite a bit less as you can see. It's perfectly normal. It's because of many factors. ;)
wow you shoulda spent less money and got the 96 z28 ss cause those were rated at 305 hp at the crank wow thats retarded.

Looking at the other "For sale" video from this poster, this is not a real SS. It's a Z28. No SS wing, plus an aftermarket ram-air box. Nice try. ;)

It's only a LT1 and thats dam good because he his the factory numbers perfect and that doesn't always happen.

ONLY an LT1??? WTF's the matter with you! First of this isn't just any engine, second it should pull 285hp. Maybe this one is old, and prob. no mods.

Very good numbers for a stock LT1 A4. I mean, very good. I've seen some high-mileage A4 cars putting down 235rwhp.

w/e man just get ur shit right before u blabber about something u dont know

chill out Nigga! not like I'm against Camaros, my 95 Z28 pulled 378 AT THE WHEELS with cam, lifters, rocker arms and cold air intake.
I just figured since this Camaro as a dyno pull video it would pull a bit harder than 250.
Either way...... Im a Camaro fan, so chill.
