  • This song made me buy 'The Point' and really set myself as a fan of Nilsson.

  • Harry was the best :o)

  • @chotchcas the same happened to me :)

  • @chotchcas How funny was Lennon? :)

  • genius RIP

  • genius

  • These comments on who is better than who are so pitiful, if you enjoy music, just shut up and listen to the music. Music is a form of expression and it comes from inspiration, the Beatles didn't start being great, they were kids at the beginning, trying to get a break and only from years of hard work it could be achieved, originally they made covers and wrote songs based on those band and singers they liked at the time. All musicians have their predecessors to thank.

  • Right ? and whats your point ?

  • @pirrung123 I am saying: Are you gaining anything from arguing? Neither of you are an authority in music, your only authority is your own likes and dislikes. You are biased to what you grew up listening. Can you give evidence to support that one is better than the other? What about other artist/bands-Mozart,Queen,Ray Charles,Michael Jackson, Coldplay,Madonna, Frank Sinatra, Elvis- Other people claim they are "The Greatest" Are they wrong and if so why? Who's the best Beatle, the one you like?

  • @sadsamisback

No one is an 'authority' on music. No one is an authority on anything beyond absolutes. It doesn't mean that arguing over it isn't appropriate. I still argue with Right Wingers and people who like Nickleback because it's my perogative to represent it. What is obnoxious is when high tower fucks like you act all superior, while ironically engaging in the exact same futility.

    'Isn't everyone's opinion equally valid'

The answer is a stern, "No!".

  • @DominoGray LOL. "act all superior" That was funny, thanks for making me laugh. "Isn't everyone's opinion valid? The answer is a stern, No!" You got that right, because nobody cares about your opinion.

"I still argue with people who like Nickleback because it's my prerogative to represent it. What is obnoxious is when fucks like you act all superior" Nobody asked you about your prerogatives, henceforth it is YOU who act superior, thinking you have the right to impose you opinions onto others.

  • @sadsamisback

    No, you are wrong

  • I had no idea Harry was the narrator on "The Point" album, he was a genius to be doing everything on that recording.

  • Harry and John Lennon were pals, Lennon went to bats for him when RCA wanted to drop Harry from the label. Lennon suggested that when his contract was over with apple that he would not sign with RCA if Nilsson wasn't there...or so the story goes!

  • that was paul banging out "oh darlin" on piano harry nilsson style .. no?

  • Super Harry Nilsson....my Hero

  • jtpfreak -

Nilsson played his songs BEFORE the Beatles played their songs. And the Beatles said so.

John Lennon thought Nilsson was the best group he had ever ever heard because Nilsson recorded using multi-tracks of himself harmonizing to himself.

Paul McCartney thought Nilsson was the best American pop vocalist.

Both thought he was the best American pop composer.

It's good to read before you speak.

  • Right on man :o)

  • @michaelslack1 Hear, Hear! The Beatles loooved Nilsson. They also loved The Monkees (little-known fact).

  • @michaelslack1 They were kindred spirits, Nilsson was so Beatlesque to begin with.

  • @michaelslack1 -you are right on here..I was around then...lol

  • @michaelslack1 awesome. can't believe I let go of Harry so long ago. reconnecting and learning. thanks

  • @michaelslack1 Hes English too.

  • jtpfreak said "it sounds similar to the Beatles. Rip Off." well I love Harry, and I love the Beatles.... hmmm but lets see, maybe, perhaps is the Beatles that sound like Harry!!!! Just a thought

  • If anybody sounds like The Beatles or Harry i just love them...did you ever hear Matt Costa ? he reminds me of The Beatles...check out Mr Pitiful...that song is just wonderfull :o)

  • Hey man Harry was the fifth beatle..you did'nt know that?

  • You wish

  • i love this song, it is a lot like the beatles and the beatles are my favourite band and did you know that he was very good friends with John Lennon and Paul McCartney

  • jtpfreak, Harry and John Lennon were close friends. Lennon said he was the best American composer of his time, and I agree. Their drunken escapades around NYC in the early 70s are the stuff of legend. Watch 'Midnight Cowboy', and become a Harry Nilsson fan, which I believe you already are. LIke Randy Newman, Nilsson is an American original.

  • @jtpfreak I'm sure you've been called a dolt for the commentary, so I'm trying to refrain. Nilsson was an INFLUENCE on the Beatles, and later he collaborated with all of them. They were friends and contemporaries. If you told Lennon that this guy was ripping them off, I'm sure he'd waste no time in setting you straight on things. It just makes me sick that someone is so quick to dismiss one of the greatest contributers to music the last 50 years has had.

  • @balderdashsir I have no idea what you are talking about. My comment was directed at the person that uploaded this because he or she does not own the rights to it.

  • @jtpfreak Harry was before the beatles.

  • Right On!

  • You got that right :o)

  • yes beatlesound good

  • Next to The Beatles I like Harry :o)

  • Very very good!!!

  • Thanks i love Harry :o)
