True, that poor crab will not live 10 years, let alone one or two. Looks like no matter where in the world it is, pet stores are STILL clueless about how to set up a hermit crab home. He needs all that the below poster said. Truly sad.
I like the website hermit crab paradise, or crab street journal, they have the best info for setting up your hermit crab's home, and lots of helpful people who've been crabbing many years.
It does have a really pretty shell, it looks like chocolate! But EVERYTHING is set up wrong those crabs will be lucky to survive a week SHUT UP THAT FUCKIN CHOW MUSIC PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All what was said is true..crabs need both fresh water for drinking, and salt water for bathing, proper foods that will keep them healthy and their exoskelitons hard they also need a proper glass tank to keep humidity up for them to survive. The bedding needs to be a good several inches thick so it can bury itself to molting, and definetly needs some hermie friends too, in the whole hermit crabs travel in groups of upto 100 so their social creatures.
You need more sand so the hermit crab can bury and you need more shells. Make sure the temp is around 75 and the humidity at 78. Have fresh and salt water pool. A sponge in the water bowl.
