  • and all this can be yours for the very affordable price of around 40 thousand dollars

  • The technical bug you described when having it tethered sounds like the computer runs out of RAM. How much RAM does your computer have? And is it 64-bit?

  • @XxXYoUrNaMeXXXXx4456 After a ton of testing and a lot of help from Hasselblad tech support I have determined it is a problem with the firewire 800 port on the computer.

If you use a firewire 800 from the camera to a 600 and plug into the firewire 600 port on the computer it works like a charm. Also, it seems to be intermittant. a lot of people have experienced the problem and then there are those who don't.

  • Bill Clinton's a photographer now?

  • @BestManCan Yeah, I know. and I just got a new piano and now I'm Billy Joel

  • Got mine. It was definitely worth it waiting to see a 60MP sensor but you gotta work really hard for it.

  • perfect machine

  • My dad will buy me this camera just for taking the best FaceBook pictures

  • @VisionedForce either your lying or your filthy rich (your lying) because these are like 45,000 each.

  • haha 40,000 dollars is a bit too much for me for a camera

  • Comment removed

  • @magicscorpion7 the people that buy this cam are ether rich or the best in there field makeing 100's of thousands of dollors a year

  • @bwinn10 Yeah, but another SLR camera would be almost as good, and 40 times cheaper.

  • Wow... That's one nice camera o.0

  • if you buy me one......i'll be your best friend?

  • I know a solution for you little small bug problem.,buy a Canon or Nikon.

  • There is only a very little tiny bug Hasselblad has and that is only the very small little tiny price.,bud who cares.

  • that issue with shooting tethered maybe due to your computer's usb connection going into suspend after so many minutes. its a easy fix by disabling usb suspend.

  • Actually the H4D uses firewire 800 cables. No USB support only firewire.

My new video covers my dialog with Hasselblad. It seems to boil down to an instability in the longer cables to carry the necessary voltage. Hasselblad says don't use cables over 14 feet. Also Macs are not doing a good job of providing the necessary voltage to their various ports. It seems to be extremely erratic.

    Greg

  • @PhelpsPhotography yes this is true. i experience the same with my nikon. i have to use a usb cable under 4ft

  • I want to buy one. Soooo, Do I go to Future Shop?

  • $42,000!!!

  • The cost of the camera, not to mention lenses. should show photographers that they are way under priced.

I am constantly bidding against low-ballers. How can someone afford the necessary equipment, education and myriad of other expenses of running a photography business when they are always trying to be the cheapest.

Take a lesson from the cost of this camera and get those prices up there.

    Greg

  • @PhelpsPhotography its not about the camera its all about the person behind the camera. i hear you on the low baller gush tho. CLICK!

  • damn

  • Nice JOb your my idol thanks for pics!

  • @PhelpsPhotogophy what do you think about the hasselblad h4d 200mp?

  • @bwinn10 Being a multishot camera (it takes six shots while moving the sensor to get to 200MP) it has limited usefulness (architecture and product; landscapes in extremely still weather under consistent lighting). It's also based on the '50's Kodak sensor, which is good but not quite up the the Dalsa sensor used in the '60, so when you're shooting in single-shot mode you're getting less resolution and arguably rougher tonality. If you can work 4- or 6-shot, though, great.

  • @essellar thanks for the info so its layering the shots like hdr only with resolution

  • KAFLOOGIE!

  • @thedigitalbastard its a technical term.

  • @PhelpsPhotography I think Man Ray came up with it.

  • qe sarpado ...

  • better be good for over $40,000!!!

  • Try a Lindy Firewire Repeater to solve the tethering problem. If using one of the new Apple's, it is partly down to changes they have made in their firewire port - something to do with power frequencies or something, or so I have heard.

    Hope this helps?

  • @wibber1978 you seem to be on target

  • What really makes it so expensive? The sensor? I'm a total dslr novice, what are the main differences between a ccd and cmos without getting too technical. And when would 60 mpx be beneficial? Wouldn't 40 be plenty? How much would you have to blow it up to notice the differences? Excuse my ignorance, I'm just seriously curious as an outsider. Thanks.

  • @thepoozer My thought on how photography equipment mfg's set their prices is that they pick a price that no one would ever pay and then double it. I feel it is all waaaaaay over priced. Seems to me it's about time we become overpriced.

    Greg

  • @thepoozer The main difference between CCD and CMOS is cost of production. CMOS is simply cheaper to manufacture, so most manufacturers choose CMOS, obviously. Also, CMOS is more prone to noise. However, CMOS has two advantages over CCD. CMOS consumes significantly less power, and it also doesn't overheat. A drawback of a CCD is also a vertical smear, which CMOS don't have. Other than that, CCD is generally a better choice for low light, because of higher sensitivity and less noise.

  • Wow im actually from the rio grade valley as well, when i clicked on this i wasnt expecting anyone local O_o

  • I also has those same problems with Phocus, but the latest firmware and software updates have erased the problem.. have you had the same result??

  • I started my medium format digital with an Imacon digital back on an RZ67 then moved to a Mamiya 645. The difference between Mamiya and the current Hasselblad system are unbeliveable.

  • @PhelpsPhotography

Which Tripod and Head you are using for your H4D-60 or recommend me the Best Tripod and head for Hasselblad H4D-40 Camera accompanying which On-Camera flash is available for Hasselblad H4D-40 in market ? Thanks

  • @junaid20i NIKON D200 OWN it

  • @junaid20i Any sturdy tripod should do well (Gitzo, Induro, Manfroto etc.) , I'd highly recommend a dovetail mount. As far as on camera flash the only available option is honestly the Metz line. It does have a pop-up flash but it's not for practical use.

  • @junaid20i I use two, depending on what I am shooting. gitzo 5541LS with a Manfroto 405 geared head. Fantastic for architecture.

gitzo 3540ls with a Really Right Stuff BH-55 ball head when I need something lighter.like when just out joy shooting.

    Greg

  • Greg, That's a lust-worthy piece of hardware. :) I'm a Mamiya shooter in Austin. You're making me want to switch from Hassey. Have a great day.

  • U should have a beast computer if u take in mind that raw files are 80mb on average!

  • This is my dream camera. Kudos to you man.

  • 40 000.If only I had 3 kidneys...

  • What a beast of a camera, I just want to actually hold a H4D, any H4D. Thats my dream camera.

  • I cannot believe this thing costs 41k!!!

  • Well, it is a cool car. But I have owned several really cool cars over the years and none of them have ever made me any money, they only cost me money. So, Ill stick with the Hassy. :-}}

  • Whoa, it is real! Did you sell your soul to the devil to own that thing? Hmmmm...BMW M3 vs. Hasselblad H4D-60....gonna go with the car :D

  • @MightyTabooTiki what M3? M3 costs nearly 100k... e92 i mean.
