Mclaren MP4 12C >Lamborghini Aventador >458 Italia... If you have driven enough sports cars you would be able to truly understand what the Mclaren is. That is, that it is the perfect all around sports car. The Formula 1 grade performance of this car is second to none in its category. Yes, I am talking about the previously mentioned supercars. Really the only thing i could possibly give the Italia an advantage over the Mclaren is in its aesthetics. That and the fact i have always wanted a ferrari

I don't see what's so plain about it. Sure, its not as visceral as the 458, but its extremely fast and I'm sure I would be blown away if i drove it. Both this and the ferrari are greatly engineered cars, but I think i'd take this.

I'm a Ferrari guy and I've been reluctant to admit that I will buy a Mclaren before the 458 because what it is, I'll buy a 458 when they make a street challenge version. It does lack that flair Ferrari has but I'd say the Technology makes up the engineering is perfect and the everyday use is a lot better than the 458 and I believe that's what sells it the 458 is uncomfortable in long rides and this clearly this is.

I can tell you what he is (and all testers are) about. Two main things about this car:

It is more affective (faster) down the road then 458 ferrari and more comfortable.

But it has no flare/ sparcle in it (hee says). He means that it will not drift like 458. They designed it more comfortable and safe to bee more effective.

This is main consern for buyer. I would buy one definately!!!

What is very odd about this car is that when it was tested against the 458 by evo, fifth gear and car magazine the ferrari was much faster but when top gear tested it the mclaren was their second fastest car (after the atom v8) beating (by a big difference) cars like the veyron ss, gumpert apollo s, ascari a10, zonda f or koenigsegg ccx.

Who is lying? Although I am a Top Gear fan I think they are the liars, I don't think a car like this can be faster than the gumpert apollo s or the others.

It is really interesting to see that Autocar liked this car so much on the road while Fifth Gear hated it on the track. Seeing as most Ferrari/McLaren drivers will never take their cars to a track, it makes the two much more competitive. The McLaren's beauty is in its "form follows function" design; every component is unique and deliberate. The Ferrari has more of a traditional beauty.

Ferrari should be ashamed by producing a car that needed all sorts of extras to keep up with the basic MP4.

fifth gear's tiff needel and jason plato drove this to the limit vs the 458 italia and reported that it drives no where good as the ferrari. they also said that the engine wasnt as responsive and the handling was unpredictable. over all they were dissapointed with the car. i trust them because they are professional racecar drivers and they know what theyre talking about. this despite being british. i dont know where this guys coming from saying that this is better than the 458 italia.

And not only that with Ferrari well astablished dealer network, regular gatherings, trackdays...... Mclaren has a lot to cover before it will be wildly recognized by the public.
