I don't know if you can use an iTunes card. I use my credit card. But a $20 wont get you the apps they do charge taxes on it. Soo it ends up being $21 and some change.

I don't recommend jailbreaking your iPod at all, but do what ever you want to with it. Just remember if it screws up your iPod and you have to get it repaired your warranty will be voided.

Do you have the newest version of iTunes 7.6 and Firmware 1.1.3?? If so click the iPod touch square its in the middle of the iTunes home screen. Then scroll to the bottom and you will be able to buy it by clicking a button at the bottom of that page.

For lyrics you need to have them added to your songs in iTunes. Then sync up your touch. After its all synced up when your playing a song that has lyrics added you just tap the album art work and the lyrics some up.

I don't think the new apps will work on 1.1.2. I think you need to upgrade to 1.1.3. TO try to fix your safari part you can do a restore to get that to work.

When you connect your iPod and open iTunes on the left hand side your iPod appears. Click that then click Restore after you re-store it and then in the above the restore button is check for updates. Click that and then you should be set.

The safari Free update only provides the + button at the bottom with "Add Bookmark" you must pay for the "Add to Homescreen" feature. So really all they've added to safari is a 'funky' Search button in the top left. Very disappointing :(

The only app you don't need to be connected to the internet is the Notes app everything else needs the internet. Just like your computer you need to be connected to the internet to get on AIM check your e-mail, ect.

Safari comes on the iPod Touch already and if you are buying a Touch new it comes with the e-mail app and the 4 others. If you have an older Touch you will have to buy the 5 apps to get e-mail.
