I started on last Thursday (Europe version). Kind of hard getting used to the skills but I am learning fast.

I don't know if I should have started at 10 years old, because it is supposed to be harder, but it's not that bad for me.

Yeah. My first battle with Golem was at level 12 at age 10. It was at Closed Beta if I can remember.

He kicked my ass, because I initiated with magic, so he had the chance to run at me and smash me. I could not read his mind very well x.x and you can't use defend/counter against him, he breaks through it.

Plust I had a slow 2 hit weapon. Bastard Sword, is there something faster but still decent I could use at such low levels [19]

that's odd, his skills don't show up until the very last second for me.

He is using counter, and if he sees the golem using any skill at all, he runs and uses smash.

If the golem is not using a skill, and is atking, he wouldnt release the counter.

By the way, if you change your options you can stop your skills by pressing escape, or simply using another skill will cancel your first skill and activate the second.

Well, counter would work actually. SkyJouzu's checking if the golem uses a skill after each knock-back. Since golem is using skills almost every time, Skyjouzu disables counter and then makes space to react. If the golem decided not to use a skill, counter would stay up and be active before golem gets into range.

I tried this tactic several times, I die each time. He never defends against me, he always rushes me no matter what I do. If I put on counter, he stomps me so counter has no effect. I swear I always get the smart golem.
