Dont want to judge this guy, but I think most of these suggestions are pretty poor. Arbitrarily raising the refresh is actually bad advice and most screens are LCD now anyway so anything above 60Hz will be indeed wasted. Screen flicker was only an issue on CRT due to the way it was drawing the image (scanning).

Vista needs AT LEAST 2 gigs to run stable with the smallest amount of multitasking. I've custom built more than 40 computers ( most gaming some cheap for office work ) since 2004. I SKIPPED vista for not just this reason alone. upgrade to 2 or 3 gigs if possible pls. cheers.

Closing these programs only frees up a couple MBs of RAM and deleting unnecessary programs will free up a couple GBs on the hard drive. If you have any knowledge of processes that run in Windows, then it would do you a lot of good to go through and end process trees that aren't necessary when running a game. DON'T end a process unless you are certain it is unnecessary. Doing so will crash Windows.

"Apply" does the same as "OK" just doesn't close the window. A small thing but it really bugs me that people are trying to tell me shit when they don't even know basic shit like that.

@skankingrudeboy Apply means it may be on a different setting. For instance, if it were on setting A, and you want it on setting B, you select B, then click OK. Next time you open, it will be on setting A again. Clicking Apply puts it on setting B at all times.

The only reason the "Apply" button is there is so you can apply a change with the window still open and have the opportunity to change more. As I said "OK" does the exact same thing as "Apply" but closes the window as well as applying the change.
