This is a bit like haunting grounds so far... not too shabby.Kids are always a good creep factor in the horror genre.And in real life too...meh,sometimes.
This is definitely a Silent Hill game without the title. And it's certainly more of a Silent Hill game than Origins, Homecoming, or Shattered Memories that's for damn sure.
@samael1981 I actually found Origins enjoyable to play. They at least gave it their best shot to make it look and feel like a Silent Hill game again despite the lame action buttons and the recycling of old monsters to make them "new". It revealed the Alessa story that took away the suspense and fear from the first game.
Homecoming, Shattered Memories(what irony), and soon-to-be-out Downpour are all terrible.
This little girl, THIS LITTLE GIRL RIGHT HERE... HAS SERIOUS BALLS! I'm a 24 year old man, and when I played the first Resident Evil games, 1 and 2, I SHIT myself. Especially 2... When the zombies jumped through the boarded windows, I fucking threw my god damn N64 controller at the TV, screaming! My brother and I went "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" and our parents came in, looking at the TV, then us, and back at the TV, then they started laughing.
@Sunbreaker7 Not at all... Old games are like Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy X, and American McGee's Alice... and those came out way after such games as Final Fantasy VII, Xenogears and Clock Tower. You're got to be really, really young to think Rule of Rose is old. Plus, the speed of her running doesn't have anything to do with this game being dated; it's a common tactic developers use in stealth games in order to make the player feel vulnerable.

@IShagZombies You can order this game from Amazon for a pretty reasonable price. That's where you can get many other good horror games such as Haunting Ground, ClockTower3, Silent Hill 4, etc. :) I hope this was helpful. :)

@pgf95 The game is twisted when you play, so yeah it's got some spooky and horrific scenes in it, but the back story is more of a mind fuck/deep thinking. So yeah it's both.

I don't think I'd be able to play this even if it was available in Europe, I've read the gamescript and the whole thing with the dog upsets me too much, I cry thinking about it and I haven't even played the game. I'm probably too weak-minded for it, which is a shame. Oh well, there's always Haunting Ground, where I have the option of a nice ending.

This is why I love classical string instruments, the users know just what mood to put out for certain situations! i.e walking through the orphanage with the feeling of being watched by those sadistic little f***ers.

From my understanding Jennifer blocked the memories of the orphange and for some reason they start flooding back in twisted demented versions which she much get over.
if i was in that position that i just jumped of a bus n then when i tried gettin bak on it drove off and left me for dead in a scary wood.. id just turn my ipod on and listen to some oasis tunes and bowl around until everything was better :)

Maybe it could be because of the helpless(and rather whiny/annoying) british orphan who finds herself in unpleasant situations, maybe the fact that you can't really fight back using an assault rifle, perhaps it's that you have to find all sorts of trinkets to progress? The blank pages on the story book symbolizes how Jennifer knows nothing about her past, altough the book is filled in little by little as you progress through the "chapters" get it? :D
Holy crap this is creepy!! Now I'm gonna be all paranoid when I sleep at night and here little kids saying, "Read the story, Jennifer!" [That's my name! Eeep!!!!] She is possibly the dumbest Jennifer I've ever seen! If that were me, I woulda hauled ass out of there!! x]
meh its alright... I found it a bit different to the other games... Not as good in my opinion.. the enemies were too difficult and there wasnt enough health drinks =/ I want to complete it but I just cant bring myself to carry on which isn't good... I have every other silent hill game and love them.
Silent Hill homecoming is the best thing go out and buy it now cause it has a solid storyline charaters bulit up so well and great action 24/7 even if team silent didnt make it i live this game personel and truely

remember... to understand this history, it must be remembered that Jennifer... really has the mentality and physical strength... of a much younger girl +_+, and Diana... in fact... is much much stronger than she T-T

meh its alright... I found it a bit different to the other games... Not as good in my opinion.. the enemies were too difficult and there wasnt enough health drinks =/ I want to complete it but I just cant bring myself to carry on which isn't good... I have every other silent hill game and love them.
