I own a Smart ForFour. I think everyone can agree that that car was an attempt by the Mercedes Benz to combat the BMW Mini (they failed).

But they did actually had a "some what" different target... it was meant for people that like to call their friends in the middle of the night and hit the road. This is why I didn't bought a Mini... it was way to much of a "city car concept".

Remember the Top Gear ForFour review (24hr in a car)? I think that this MINI is exactly what they were hoping 4

I'm so excited for this vehicle (specifically the Factory JCW version). I own a Factory JCW Hardtop and it is absolutely the most fun FWD car I've ever driven (and I owned a 2000 Type-R)... After adding a baby into the mix the JCW hardtop was feeling just a little too small. JCW Countryman here we come!

Hmm, I have to admit it looks better in the video than in pictures. However, I'm still questioning Mini's intent with the Clubman if speculation about the Countryman's price and size are right -- it's very comparable in both respects.

Makes me a little worried for the Clubman because I love the Clubman.

The Countryman is a bigger vehicle than the Clubman. But you're right - there might not be room in the lineup for both.

Then again, the Clubman is just a slightly longer Cooper with a tiny 3rd door, and the Countryman is a 4 door small SUV, so it might just work.

The only problem that I foresee is that the Countryman and Clubman will be too similar in too many aspects (most importantly, price), thus deterring potential Clubman customers toward a Countryman instead. If something like that happens, it will definitely spell doom for the Clubman.
