You might consider singing this without the capo on the guitar neck. Just play in standard open tuning. The only reason Flatts record their songs above normal tuning is more emotional effect. Most people don't even notice if you key it down a half-step to save your voice, like Flatts themselves do when playing live. Most people you'll play for aren't musicians, so you can get away with it.

Excellent Job. Here's some advice you'll want to remember: That ability to hit Rascal Flatt-type high notes won't last forever if you don't warm up properly. When you aren't performing, don't sing songs like this unless in falsetto or humming. It really taxes the voice. Flatts tunes down for live concerts, and Gary often leaves stage for 10 minutes at a time when playing live because the songs are so vocally taxing on even him. Again, good job.
