Ok, first off, nice video and thank you. My family had some frienship bread going a couple months back but we ended up losing the bag to neglect. Now we're trying to start another. We currently have a bag going with the starter you show here and today is day 10! Was I supposed to add more flour sugar and milk before today??
@roger -The metal reacts with the yeast, not the milk. The dairy is not trying to get yeast to grow in the milk. Using metal bowls or utensils can cause the yeast to die. In any case, stainless steel is non reactive and can be used.
Are you getting your milk straight from the cow? Reason: Dairys keep their milk in a stainless steel container until the milk company picks it up to be pastuarized,
do you use cold milk or room temperature
