Do they also keep the data on how long each video is watched? Often we click on another video a few seconds after noticing some content we do not wish to view or leave it on and leave the room... how do they know what we really do?
This record keeping is partially about determining what we watch, in order to splash the pages we visit with ads about our interests. Other reasons are, no doubt, to assist law enforcement and enable the gov't., to keep whatever tabs on us some agencies and departments are nosey about. Write / complain to the companies & Congress!
fuck viacom! The internet is all about freedom of speech and anonynimity (well except in extreme cases such as child porn etc). Most people here abide by the rules and to have their personal details laid bare especially information about our email accounts and wat tey view is ridiculous. When someone creates art, poetry,tv music etc it belongs to the public. This is just an excuse for big american companies to become more powerful and seize our basic rights to privacy.
I read all sorts of articles about this and apparently it's over some massive copyright infringement or something? Though this does raise the question... why do they keep this data (every video every viewer's ever watched) in the first place?
Scary though, to know google/youtube and now possibly viacom are watching us...
if you kept up to date you would know google/youtube have refused to hand over information without the ip and user information being anonamized first
so send back jesus you can still hide

This has been flagged as spam show
They will now receive the logs which have ALL the data of EVERY YouTube user:
Their user name
Their IP (can be fixed to a rough location)
ANY IP they have evr logged in from
EVERY video they have watched from each IP
When they watched the videos.
Data miners will be able to profile you and know exactly what you have already used YouTube for.
THIS IS A RETROACTIVE REPEAL OF PRIVACY-- and people were up-in-arms over library books being tracked...
