It's nice to see, today, a german high speed train on a french high speed line, in a picture of european "friendship", in the same territory where in 1940 started the nazi aggression to France.
@alexrm82 But it's a shame, that Germany does not take this friedship serious. There is no highspeedline on the German part of this connection and they are not even planing on.
@NeoDerGrose That's not a fair statement. Germany is taking this friendship seriously. But on the high speed avenue a line from Saarbrücken to Mannheim wouldn't make economical sense since not enough trains use it. The Frankfurt - Köln - Brussels line is an international connection and also connects to Paris and London.

@NeoDerGrose Ja Du hast recht. In Deutschland fehlen neben Mannheim - Saarbrücken auf anderen Strecken noch Schnellachsen. Nürnberg - Leipzig, Dresden - Frankfurt, Prag - Berlin. Der Dresden - Berlin Abschnitt ist so langsam. Ein grosser Teil der Strecke ist mit 160km/h befahrbar aber die Züge kriechen die halbe Zeit. In Frankreich dagegen ist das Schnellnetz fast fertig und Spanien ist auch weiter voran. Aber Spanien benutzt ICE3 Varianten :-)
@alexrm82 The great thing is aswell, soon the ICE trains are coming to London, so I will be able to get a ICE from London to frankfurt through the channel tunnel :)
Instead, here in Italy we have a national high speed network but, unfortunately, we haven't an international high speed connection yet. We are still waiting for the Turin-Lyon line and the high speed line from Milan to Switzerland. Let's hope. The high speed railway it's the future of the transport by land!
