  • @jerseyPE1207 get an Epiphone SG the G-150 is about $200 and is great and what I have has the pearloid frets and it is the G-400 and is about $300 the G-400 looks more professional but both have exceptional playing tone and quality for their money.

  • great lesson - thanks v,much

  • You guys realize theirs good guitars other then strats and teles right?

  • thank you !

  • Great lesson. Thanks

  • hey instead of playing the 5th fret on the intro play on the 7th fret cause if you play the song back and play with it on the 7th fret its just like john mayer but other then that you did pretty good thanks i'm pro at this song now thanks to you :D

  • hey thanks a lot bro. If i could, i'd buy you a nice cold pint or scotch, but since i dont really know you, i will drink it for you =)

  • This bid is so helpful! I'm just a little confused on the second part of the beginning, the B,E then back to B. Is that part together? It sounds like it's separate. (Maybe it's me, but do you strum the B&E at the same time?) But great lesson man!

  • @IOWSSam He strums the B and the e at the same time.

  • epic intro..XD

  • Love Tele's but they're not much of a jazz guitar;) You've got a perfectly good Strat back there

  • Strumming pattern is : D D (percussion and muted) U D U

  • Man! You are a great teacher. I really like the way you are teaching this song. Thanks a lot man.

  • Thx man goreat tutorial, your sound and video are nicely set up for better hearing and sight...really helps with learning. Chords helped me alot transfering t to acoustic

I had alreadt noticed that this song has some real freak chords, but you really pulled it off! Thanks for sharing, that was really helpful!

    Greetings from Portugal.

  • hey dude !

the lesson is very good! i like i very much but i don't know any chords so that's kinda hard to do, but THANKS!!

    greets!!!

  • awesome lesson! very helpful, thank you so much!! :)

  • im lookin to buy an electric guitar..any recommendations?? been playin for 2 years and i don't want to spend that much money..anything good in the 2-300 range??

  • @jerseyPE1207 maybe a squier classic vibe strat or tele. They are supposed to be very good quality for the price.

  • @machogriz great thanks a lot..great video btw

  • @machogriz i'd say the same! =)

  • @machogriz hahaha squires are shit

  • @machogriz hahaha squires are shit

  • @machogriz if it were me id buy anything OTHER than a squire but it works for a lot of people. For 2-300 you could get a decent iBanez or even a cheap ESP or something...buy used too save a ton and theyre just teh same usually

  • @machogriz its a telecaster. strats look nothing like that i have both lol but i agree

  • @jerseyPE1207 you say 2 years? after 2 years I got a telecaster its got a rich sound and good pickups but only two

  • @imCanadianEh123 i just got a really nice used mexican fender strat..excellent condition..i think i need an amp now...i have an old squier amp..sounds good but i think it will sound a lot better with a better amp

  • @jerseyPE1207 nice job men congratulations

  • @jerseyPE1207 i reccomend gibson.

  • @DonTheTurtleDude any gibson in the 200-300 range? or just epiphones?

  • @jerseyPE1207 Haha, I wish there were gibsons in that price range

No, youll find only epiphones at that price, and not very good ones.

What i recommend, though it costs more than 200-300, is either a mexican fender strat or tele, which will run you bout 400-500 us if you find a nice one, or a DBZ guitar, not veryfamous, but very beautiful looking and sounding guitars.... Would probably cost a bit more than the strat tho.

You might get em for your price range if you buy em second hand. GL :D

  • @plastic191919 awesome thanks...i got a mexican fender strat

  • @jerseyPE1207 Enjoy it mate :)

  • @jerseyPE1207 I Have a Hagstrrom D2F, and its a great guitar. paid around 300 used for it and it sounds similar to a Les Paul.

  • @jerseyPE1207 just shell out the extra bit of cash and get a fender strat or gibson les pual itl be worth it in the long run

  • @jerseyPE1207

if u havent bought ur guitar yet i would recommend the gibson SG special faded..really classy guitar...or maybe a fender telecaster classic player, or jaguar classic player...very good guitars for the money.

  • @jerseyPE1207 I considered a squier guitar. Somehow it didn't realy feel nice so I bought a Cort zenox Z42. I highly recommend it because is has is own look and sounds like a 500-600 range guitar

  • What type of amp do you use and what type of pedals are you using on this song if any?

  • @ceddy1968 Amp was an emulated Fender Bassman amp in POD farm in Line6 UX2 studio. No pedals were used.

  • @machogriz

In garageband what would the amp and pedals be ? If you are in fact using garageband. Great lesson by the way !

  • @machogriz I've got a UX2 as well... and any time i try to record a cover, all that the computer records is the guitar through the UX2, but not the backing track. Are you using external speakers, and recording with a digital camera? I just record with the webcam on my mac... But not having any success. Any info would help. Great lesson by the way. I'll be using it to learn the song. Thanks :)

  • thank you :) if it wasn't for you i would of gave up on this song <3

  • yeah i enyoud the lesson i realy like john mayers music and i like to lern all johns songs

  • Nice! where did you get the track without de guitar line? One more time, great lesson!!!

  • needs more dexterity.

  • Great lesson, thanks for taking the time.

  • hehehehehe g string....

  • thank you .. helped a lot

  • thanks for all the lessons :} possible to show acoustic versions of john mayer's songs like clarity etc? thanks!

  • u think ur the shit and i want to smack you

  • I saw a video where you slide from the 3 fret up to the 9th and not the 7th fret up to the 9th....which is right? o.o

  • @MarieASFamjsn Good eyes! I think that either way will work, but the slide from the 3rd fret will probably sound more accurate.

  • @machogriz oh, i see :) thanks. :)

  • Amazing lesson! however i was confused a bit by the chords, i wish they would have been explained a little slower but other than great great lesson!

  • Class man thanks

  • Thank you soo much :) I play by ear and i only got the solo from listening to it. The chords was what I got stuck on.

  • Great lesson, but I am wondering if you have the tab sheets on it??? If so please hook a brother up. drbrownfield@yahoo.com I cannot find them the way you play it anywhere. Most are in the 14ty and 16th frets? Your way is much better. Thanks in advance

  • Not exactly how he plays it.. but aiy..

  • Do you have a video showing a close up of your right hand as you're picking the intro? I'm having a hard time figuring out John Mayers fingerpicking style. If not, can you create just a short video giving an example?

  • You rock

  • Very nice, a difficult one on the chords for sure. Thanks

  • I'm an experienced player and I had been wanting to learn this song. This was an excellent tutorial! Thank you very much.

  • brilliant lesson man:)

  • Are you certain this is in G? It seems more like C to me.

  • @eviIbreebIes G maj - Am - Bm - C maj - D7 - Em

the chords fit with key of G.

  • @eviIbreebIes Yep, absolutely positive

  • @machogriz it is - i have the official guitar book.

  • @eviIbreebIes i was working with its scales, its in G

  • @eviIbreebIes

    It is a G indeed

  • GREAT MAN! i looked everywhere for the tabs and found the intro tabs but i was wanting the part in between the intro (when you went up to the 3rd and 5th fret) and thats what i needed. THANKS ALOT!!

  • dude I would like for you to make new videos your so great at teaching them thanx bro!:)

  • Not that I can do it, but your vibrato is horrible. Like every other cover on youtube. Vib on a bend is so hard!!

You have the same problem I have, the notes go flat.

  • great playing but i think the tele sounds kinda thin.imo
