You can't lift a Benz like an domestic car its gotta be offset on a 2 post lift.

@smirnofowner See if you knew vehicles then you will know possibly why this one fell.

Look up the proper way to lift a Merc or BMW on a 2 post car lift.It doesn't matter which model BMW. you'll see. these cars are offset which means the way they are balanced is to split the weight Front to Rear. it helps with the handling, performance ect,,,, So a tech can't just lift a Merc or BMW like a solid rear axle Sedan/Saloon what ever you want to call these cars.It will fall forwards or backwards easily

If yoy lift the car on the jackpads just inside the rockerpanels it wont be a problem, these guys dit not fit the hoist properly.

I am a car tech and have running my own shop for 25years, when a car like a merc600 comes in you must take care due to the wieght, otherwise its buissenes as usual.

They fucked up, shit happens, even a chevy would fell of if lifted the wrong way..

@smirnofowner Well I it never seem to amaze me that all of the Techs I've talked to over 80% of you guys have one thing in common."Your the biggest group of Mr. KNOW IT ALL Mechanics". I'm not saying your wrong about anything, I agree wit you. Vehicles have changed a lot in 30 yrs too, So if you've been doing it wrong you should know.

In this video it really looks like the car wasn't placed the right way on the lift If it was then it is Lift failure & the arm pad snapped & the Benz fell.

@MixQuisite I think you should pipe down when you dont know who you talking to, i read and understand emisson related prob. Since i live and work in Sweden Merc, BMW Audi etc is serviced in a regular basis, theese guys placed the car wrong, didnt check the arms for proper lock and as it seems backed the car so the heavy part was where the ligth shuold have been. A Lincol Town car has the same weight distrubution as the merc.

At least you have one thing right, i know it all.

@smirnofowner Most of these mechanics think they know it all.I once shamed a Master Tech in diagnostics failures. If you truly Knew it all you would hardly need service data specs,or ever get a returning problem. It gets easy when dealing with 1 brand of vehicles like Mercs,BMW,Audi, all similar.& I mean like ignition, fuel, brakes, engine systems/ components ect...Cakewalk the price for parts outrageous. they shouldn't fail at all for that $.

If the axle is live or irs its still attached to the car and counts in on the scale. Fyi ignition, fuel engine systems is what makes the emission so......

Problem is thats a VERY heavy car and the v12 engine makes the front end heavier then the back.. If you don't put it on the lift just right this is what could happen.
