Sims 3 Update Error

hey the same thing happened to me i called the EA team and they told me that my computer need to be ugrade. even though i got a new one in 2010 and its dell but i had 2 sims 3 games i had the regular sims three game and i had the sims 3 late night game extension pack.... the problem was that i couldnt have both of them installed at the same time untill i got my computer update.. so it just might be ur computer......

@TJ10Productions I made a video on how to fix it, but you go to start, then EA folder and it should have a uninstall option :)

Soooo, there's no way to NOT hve to un and reinstall~?? CRAP~!! Collectively I've uninstalled this game about 50 times already~ Now I have to lose my progress again~!! My perfect family.....gone...~

@MiyariShirou You can still have your family as long as you keep a copy of your EA folder on a jump drive or your desktop, and when you reinstall it, just drag it back :)

Haha u can just use a crack i have had the same problem used a TSL host and TSM crack :) launched anyway

When Im about to uninstall, it says the other games might crash. Im going to uninstall all the games just like you did, will they be okay?

@MewDenise yes its okay. A reason it may crash is because there is Custom Content. Other than that it should be okay. :) Just make sure to update them after you install each one

I had that problem too a while back. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it again (the base game and expansion pack{s}) . The game worked, but i had lost everything in my old games :(

@SimGirl125 I know what you mean. I didn't play for about 3 months :( But then I uninstalled everything and re installed it and it worked

@SoToniJ Oh right now that is a way of fixing it, but i have fixed it without deleting any of my game... all I did was install Generations and it worked!! :)

try to uninstall a game, what games do you have, one might need an update

or like after i uninstalled ambitions i installed generations, which is more updated

so like maybe get an update or check the version [mite not have the correct #]

haha omg i have the EXACT problem and EXACT same expansion pack x im no computer genius, no one in my family is :L so i havent been on sims in weeks, have u got any solutions yet???? its really bugging me noww xx

@TheNattkitten1411 yes i have a soulution. i saved my saved games and my entire EA folder on a flash drive and copied it to my desktop and uninstalled all of the games. It does ask you if you want to keep your data so you wont lose your saves. say yes and reinstall your games while updating each of them. I will soon have a video showing what i did :)

ok anyone please help!!! i bought the sims 3 3 times and the first time it worked. i unistalled it cause i thought it was taking over my life so i uninstalled it. later i tryed to play it lost the serial codes :( 2 time i bought it and when i installed it i updated it and said unknown error. returned it. 3rd time i bought it i installed it updated it unknow error then uninstalled installed it then i went to the launcher no update then pressed play. it quit the launcher and did nothing. HELP!!!!!

@angelforlps I saved my EA folder to my desktop and to a flash drive and then uninstalled all of my sims packs but it asked me if I wanted to keep my saved games. when you install it back your saves will still be there

what if you have a downloaded sims 3 expansion packs?

@Ericisme21 I'm not sure how that works because I never downloaded the expansion packs, but maybe what you could do is save your expansion packs on a flash drive or a USB port, and keep the code if your download came with a code. Then when you put it back on your computer, update each expansion pack. I hope it works fo you :)

when you unistalled all of the games, did your current families get deleted, cuz I have this problem too and Im scared if I unistall the games they will delete my family :/

@donmont10 I didn't lose any of my families. when I went to uninstall, it asked me if I wanted to keep all of my datd and I said yes. For a back up, I went to EA folder and copied it to my desktop for a back up and I also saved it onto a flash drive, just in case. When I reinstalled each game i updated them, and when I played it, all of my families were still there :)
