Thank you, thank you, thank you! Our little Houdini is almost 3 months, but 15 pounds. He can worm his way out of a traditional swaddle in seconds, but won't sleep without it! This works like a dream...now we'll just have to work on getting him to give up the swaddle...eventually.
@lrgarey80 I'm glad to read that this swaddling technic works for you. I found untraining the swaddle was surprisingly challenging. We started by unswaddling the arms, one at a time! Good Luck!!!
@ninja781 The size of the smaller receiving blanket is 27x29 inches and the larger blanket is 43x43 inches. Since the smaller receiving blanket is only used to bind their arms, size is not so important. Although, you don't want want to overheat the baby. The larger blanket was made by my mom. Hope this helps...
Does she not freak out!! My 2 month old goes absolutley nuts! if you try to hold her arms down ,she usually likes to keep her arms up near her mouth or face.. but then she starts frailing them around and wakes herself up... I will try this method.
@Mrsjohnson007 - Shaila was happy to be swaddled, I think it's because she liked the security of the tight blankets. Our issue developed when she was getting to old to be swaddled. We had to un-swaddle her in stages. It took close to 3 months before she could sleep without being swaddled. Interesting how each baby is so different :-)
