This looks like an Anton Schwarzkopf model, a famous German roller coaster genius, well known for his looping coasters without overhead restraints. They are relatively rare, most are from the 70s and 80s. Never been on one, but one can dream!

I was in grade school in Texas when this came out,it was THE big new crazy coaster at the time! A double looper? madness! It's funny to look at this now since all the insane crazy coasters have come out since,but at the time this was a huge scary deal

Shock was is 11 stories tall, 116 ft high, and travels about 55mph, taking you through two double loops. It was the first consecutive double loop coaster ever built, and when it opened in 1978, it was the worlds tallest and steepest roller coaster! It only held that record for a few week, then Busch Gardens in Virginia opened Loch Ness at 130 feet and stole the title away. Even though we're no longer the tallest coaster, we're still rated one of the favorite coasters in the country by ACE.

@gilmoreguy It also has the friendlist crew in the park, often the fastest, and always the funniest (looking)! We love having people come ride so we can visit and chat and have a good time with them, unlike the other coasters that just push them through to get them in and out without ever smiling at them!

The ride in general though doesn't look like much...probably since Ive been on so many rides that are worse but still. The track is my main concern XD

Actually, I was really surprised at how smooth this ride is for how old it is. I was really impressed! I've been on some coasters that are pretty bad and were fairly new, this one was really a pleasure to ride!
