I agree with you, but surely you realize that according to Mat 5:17-21, because we are naturally comfortable in the flesh, and can NEVER be perfectly selfless and humble as Jesus commanded in this speech, almost all humans are excluded from heaven.

My read on this is that Republicans have a winner with Gustav. It gave Bush and Cheney, to two most wildly unpopular people in the party, an excuse to cancel their appearances at the RNC-appearances that would only helped the Obama strategy of linking McCain to Bush and Cheney. It's also diverted attention away from McCain, which is a very good thing because, recently, most of McCain's media coverage has been negative. Jesus' Sermon on the Mount goes through Chapters 5 - 7, ending of course with the claim about false Christians.
He also starts the sermon by suggesting that if you break even the smallest command, you cannot enter heaven.
Do you follow every commandment in chapters 5-7,

God hates Republicans. I never understood why U.S.A. with a supposedly secular government always places so much importance on the "Faith" aka some sort of Christianity of their government candidates. Religion may influence how U govern but it can't be the basis of it.

Well in God's defense, this brings to memory a certain scripture about when James and John asked Jesus if they should call fire to come down on Samaritans who did not welcome them, and Jesus said "But He turned and rebuked them, [and said, "'You do not know what kind of spirit you are of; for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.' And they went on to another village." (Luke 9:55, 56). So I can very well understand why what happened happened...

My read on this is that Republicans have a winner with Gustav. It gave Bush and Cheney, to two most wildly unpopular people in the party, an excuse to cancel their appearances at the RNC-appearances that would only helped the Obama strategy of linking McCain to Bush and Cheney. It's also diverted attention away from McCain, which is a very good thing because, recently, most of McCain's media coverage has been negative. Seriously, I've seen almost nothing about the RNC on the cable news networks.
