  • Sounds better on a DSM.

  • It is to big. Hear how long it takes to wind up. Not that to big is a bad thing I like it lol

  • @UWontcatchMeClean Actually it's sized well for the engine. The exhaust housing is a bit smaller than stock, so it spools quicker. the only upgrade being shown here is a bigger compressor wheel, which keeps EGT's down a little at higher RPM. Any increases in lag due to increased compressor mass are more than made up for with the smaller turbine housing.

  • That is SUUUUUCCHHH a badass sound. When I think turbo (I'm 33), I remember the early ones off the Cat's and semis. I'm running a 60-1 that makes it's fair share of spool song, but that Holset just sounds simply BADASS!!!!

  • @VaMoneyCow The map width enhancement slot adds a bit of whistle. It recirculates air to reduce surge, and that recirculation makes for whistle. It also reduces efficiency slightly. Changing to an intake without sound-deadening ribs would make it whistle even more while driving.

  • SOUNDS LIKE FORD TRANSIT ^^

  • I make that sound when i snore

  • lol sounds like the truck outside my house. anyways, thats a HUGE turbo!

  • I might piss in your inlet.

  • @moondog203 EGT's get a little warm, so I could use the water injection. I'd invite you to piss in my exhaust after the turbo too so I can reduce NOx. Environmentalists would appreciate it.

  • @gmansdiesel I like the sound

  • @gmansdiesel Lolololol

  • Love the sound of shrouded type turbos!

  • thats a 18.5 cm housing with a t3 foot?! lol looks like a 12 or 14. i got a 17cm t4 housing and it looks twice the size of that so idk maybe its jus the T4 inlet lol

  • @9412vpullin I ran the 60mm compressor with both the 18.5 and the 12cm housings, so I don't always remember when I was running them. This video is definitely the 12cm housing with T3 foot though.

  • @gmansdiesel i was goin to say! lol wat was it like with the 18.5? lag wise

  • @9412vpullin I never had much of a problem with lag, but my truck's an auto. It gets the RPMs up fast enough and only has to spool the turbo once. I mainly went with the 12 so I could keep the boost under 40psi until I get studs/o-rings.

  • @gmansdiesel what was better for you? the 12 or the 18?? i have an h1c with a 12cm housing i was thinking of doing the 60mm upgrade too, i also have an 18 and a 21cm housing for that. and i have an hx35 with a 12 cm exhaust housing that i could do the upgrade to instead, but if the 12 gets too hot then ill do the h1c with an 18!

  • @caseyn720 It all depends on your fueling and use. I run stock injectors and don't tow much, so the 12 is good for me. With more fuel and towing, the 18 would keep things cooler on the top end. Exhaust housings are easy to swap though, so it might be best to try both and see which you like best.

  • she got lag man......

  • @Mrsheytun the only respectable place for a turbo on a small engine is a 1.9l. if you know what im talking about, your awesome

  • @gmansdiesel-Didnt realize you had a old school 12 valve, much respect for having a cummins, the only true diesels on the road. I have a 05 cummins and removed the silencer ring when i installed my cold air intake. Keep your boost up, roll the coal, and piss of tree huggers!

  • Sounds like you just removed the silencer ring, oh wait, you did.

  • @WeatherbyPimp 1. First gens don't come with silencer rings because they don't have MWE slots, thus the compressor is fairly quiet when stock.

    2. First gens have 50mm or 54mm 8-blade compressor wheels. This is a 60mm 6-blade wheel.

    3. HTT upgrades don't generally come with silencer rings.

    4. I didn't "just remove the silencer ring", I replaced the compressor backing plate, wheel, housing, and seals with HTT's Stage IV kit... like the description says.

  • @gmansdiesel trying to post this for the 4th time, didnt realize you had a 12 valve. I have a 05 cummins and removed the silencer ring on my holset when i installed my cold air intake. Did you end up installing a high performance injector pump to supply enough fuel for the increased boost pressure?

  • @WeatherbyPimp I turned it up myself. I'm still running the stock injectors though.

  • Sounds like a diesel

  • @TheMozes555 if i was stoned you wouldve just blown my mind...

  • @Mrsheytun I'm not sure I get exactly what you're asking, but Garrett Turbos website has some good articles on compressor sizing.

  • @Mrsheytun That depends on a lot of things, like how much boost it's running and how big the turbo is. Small turbos can reach close to 200,000RPM, while the bigger turbos generally stay under 100,000RPM.

  • YES PLEASE.

  • SWEET!

  • echt geiler klang ! So muss sich ein Lader anhören :-)

  • Love the sound of a 6bt, the older Dennis Darts in the UK have the same engine.

  • truck sound<3333

  • is this your only upgrade to the truck? and do you still have the 18.5 cm housing on the back of it?

  • @straight2500

Nah, I have a BHAF, 4" exhaust, pump turned up quite a ways, shift kit, etc. It's running a 12cm wastegated housing so I can keep the boost down.

  • the power of turbo-diesel

  • awesome sound...engine sound like some john deere or something like this :)

  • no silencer ring there

  • 12v diesel engine bus

  • measurement is bar

  • no silencer ring i see i am going to throw a real nice and clean 8 blade H1C on one of my motors not too sure which one KA24DE or my 1JZGTE thank you dodge for going with Holset turbo thats coming from an import guy also....

  • the cummins 12v is considered to be the best engine ever for a mid sized vehicle diesel or gas

  • does anyone think a 1988 mack truck turbo would be able to customly fit on this truck?

  • Ya depending on the size of mack engine.Need to be a compound setup to get it to spool more than likely unless youre pushing some serious fuel and timing.

  • Wanna be rice mobile?Unless your hocky puck ricer can make 50psi with a single charger, shut up.Diesels are turbo charged from the factory, was your car?

  • My petrol was, 1.3bar pressure.

  • there are 4 bangers out there pushing 50+psi on a single turbo

  • But on the factory charger?

  • nope, but im planning on putting one on my 94 talon tsi...lol

  • Sweet! I have the same turbo. 10psi its saying hi!

  • fuckin rednecks gotta love' em

  • fucking diesel

  • what engine is it? sounds very five-cylinder tdi but oldish kinda VW?

  • its a 6 cylinder 5.9L cummins

  • put your balls in there! haha

  • Comment removed

  • sounds like the Ps to me.

  • how can you mistake a cummins for a psd? first the turbo is on the pass side thats an automatic give away when the psd's turbo is mounted on the top of the engine on the backside secondly a psd sounds NOTHING like a 7.3!

  • have you ever seen a holset turbo on a powerstroke?

  • yay for cars that sounds like a truck.....and run like one.....get rid of it get a normal car

  • TDI HAHA

  • put your finger in there

  • @Sych0Sid gets me every time dammit

  • @Sych0Sid what about ur cock ?

  • sound like a bus!!! xD

  • haha badddd! a bus with a bird BOV.

  • @trurydj it pretty much is the same engine they use in buses, just smaller

  • @trurydj thts cause its a turbo diesel, like most busses

  • @trurydj thts cause its a turbo diesel, like most busses

  • @trurydj A bus with Turbo....

Schoolbus with Turbo and kids vs. a sill --> Kids gone

    xD

  • @Homestudio29 Most buses around here are turbo diesels?

  • i wonder what would happen if a fly would be sucked there))

  • 100% diesel!!!

  • Sorry make that intercooled.

  • Lets see Dodge Cummins 12V. Either a 89-90 or 92.5-93 just by the turbo size. If I had to guess I would say non intercooled.

  • i know almost nothing but that sounds close

  • it is a truck

    or diesel engine

  • both prolly

  • what car is that?

  • can you here the whistle with the intake pipe on??

  • Yep. It really starts to sound good around 30psi.

  • answer me this.. i thought PSI was how much pressure is in your tires but when it comes to turbo whats PSI mean?

  • PSI is a measure of pressure (pounds per square inch). The turbocharger's compressor pressurizes the intake air to above atmospheric pressure. Extra air + extra fuel = extra power.

  • @Hardstyle2009 pretty much the same thing, pressurizes the air that comes from the exhaust and compresses it into the engine

  • @Hardstyle2009 when u talk about pressure in a turbo most time you measure it in bar not psi. 1 bar = 17 psi

  • @ubuntunoobz You can use any units of pressure you want, bar, psi, Pa, atm, in. H20, in. Hg, etc. 1 bar = 100kPa = 14.5psi.

  • @ubuntunoobz im pretty sure its 1 bar = 14.7

  • @RDC98TDI no its 14.5 psi iv know that for ages, it was prob my dumb ass brother on my laptop that made that post.

  • @gmansdiesel damn 30 pounds can u take that crap off and put that on a RX-7

  • @MEDIRTBIKEMASTER if you want your engine to blow . a stock gasjob can only handle so much boost . the pistons wont hold up . a diesel doesnt make as much compression which allows it to push lots of boost . like 70 psi

  • @foxriderkx250f Ya got that slightly backwards. Diesels make a LOT of compression, without it they wouldn't run. 17.3:1 for the HO 5.9's. At that ratio on a gasser, you'd have to run some seriously high octane shit, can't find that at the local station.

  • @foxriderkx250 rx7s dont have piston engins thay have rotary which is free spin not like piston were thay are forced down in the displasment

  • @MEDIRTBIKEMASTER most mazda engines are rotary instead of pistons. But the rotaries have 2 spark plugs, not one

  • @sexyjen2000 i know that all the rotarys are 10-A,,,,,,,,,,12-A,,,,,,,,,13-A,,,,,,13-B,,,,,,20-B,,,,,,,,,,and the new RENESIS 16-X witch is sopssed to be better porformance and gas millege and i think it a hydrogyn so the exaust fumes are 100% no corbon dioxside

  • very impressive whistle!

  • first gen cummins probally

  • Bingo

  • dogde ram?

  • that sounds like a cummins ! dont it ??? lol

  • whistle!!

  • obviously hanging off a deisel, but what sort

  • I love hearing turbos spool up on diesel trucks. I was at my bus stop one morning and a Chevy got going from the stop sign. Loudest turbo I've ever heard, except for a Ford one time. I smiled and my friend looked at me funny when I told him why.

  • ur comment sounds like an intro to a homosexual novel lolz

  • lol

  • sounds like a cummins

  • Who needs a calculated number when you can measure your torque in the 1,000's?

  • i love hearing a turbo truck spool when it goes past me, puts a smile on muh face =)

  • not bad for turbo diesel

  • no shit dumbass it sounds like a fuckin tractor. we know its a fuckin truck.

  • its a truck

  • tractor:))

  • hx 40/35 ftw

  • turbo diesel)))

  • how in the world can you not tell that its diesel... listen to the engine... nice holset prolly on a cummins aint it

  • Yep, 5.9 Cummins in a 1992 Dodge. The turbo is a hybrid - the turbine side is stock, the compressor side is from an 8.3L Cummins.

  • Got Love that 2000RPM rev ha

  • suena como un motor diesel(gas-oil)

  • sounds like a truck

  • obviously it is T_T listen to the way it idles and the way the turbo spools

  • matis une teete kequette

  • yes

  • that sounds turbo diesel... am I right?

  • yea its a turbo diesel

  • exacly

  • does all holset whine like this?

    sounds really cool

  • not the best turbo on earth, but hands down the sweetest sounding turbo I've ever been around. You can't BELIEVE how loud this turbo is in person!! ahh the good ol' days

  • that sounds fkn sweet... sounds like a jet engine

  • Nice sound, the sound of a good turbo is a male aphrodisiac.

  • TURBO DIESEL!!

  • where you get it ?

  • Nice!!
