  • Fuel is like the Nirvana that doesn't suck.

  • crazy stalker at 1:14 to an akward camera switch anyone?

  • That Bridge was awful... awesome otherwise.

  • Pan monahan needs to hit the road.. Brett has charisma pat has.. uhhh...

  • This is a great song,, fantastic lyrics.. I'm glad Brett steps up to the plate and lets it rip, full of energy and life,, the dude from train looks lame and pissed off.. grouse!!!!

  • I've watched many videos showcasing Shimmer---and yes, this is the best video version by far. And hey what about that nose job Brett had somewhere between this video and late 2000s? He looks great here, so don't know why he needed it. Well...let's just imagine he did it because it affected his beautiful voice and leave it there.

  • Freaking great song done best by Brett.....one question though. Who let the douchebag from Train on the stage?

  • riverfest!!

  • @DenizCMusic like the title said "best version" those 2 fags ruined the song

  • want to upgrade your happiness? here's one of the endless ways- watch videos of great songs performed by great artists like these guys, and consciously be aware of absorbing the energy of the CROWD. FEEL IT. GET INTO IT. Let your spirit gel with the bliss of the sudience. That tingling feeling, like your soul is ready to take flight, take a moment to thank God for that..because the feeling IS God

  • LOOOOVVVEEE THiS PERFORMANCE! I USED TO LiSTEN TO THiS SONG EVERYDAY!!! LOVE FUEL!

  • I can't find the official music video for this song on YOUTUBE :(

  • @dbenmil I think they removed it. =(

  • @DenizCMusic HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @DenizCMusic You're ignorant. Those faggots destroy this song.

  • @xblink182loverx lmao tell me about it? is she gonna say Toryn did a better job than Brett next?

  • at the end he makes you acknowledge the guy from Train, that makes me respect him

  • This song reminds me of that stupid girl I had a crush with (I didn't date her, but I still hate her).

  • God bless the 90's

  • Where the heck is Fuel. Gawd I loved this band!!

  • looks like he's jerkin in the beginning

  • The peak of Brett Scallions...

  • I always heard the song but never saw the face behind the powerful voice wow! that guy is super hot

  • I think it's funny how people Bash on the guy from Train. Brett might have a better voice, but as far as making career moves goes, I think he's a dumbass. He pretty much killed his career and Fuel's by growing a mustache and joining The Doors. While Train keeps a steady pace with their mediocre, but still radio-worthy hits, Brett has pretty much lived in Fuel's musical graveyard for the past 7 years.

As I said before, I like Brett and Fuel better, but there really is no room to tease Patton.

  • @Minacious given the chance, wouldn't you join what remained of THE MOTHERFUCKING DOORS?

  • @demondays7 The Doors were washed up news before Fuel even came out, so no. Especially not at the apex of my career. Fuel had way more potential.

  • @Minacious i don't think you know who THE DOORS are, Fuel didn't even make it out of the 90's as far as relevance goes

  • @demondays7 That's because he left before Fuel could really make it anywhere. Where have the Doors been? I'm pretty sure they never even made it to the 90s. Brett leaving Fuel for The Doors was like if Ben from Breaking Benjamin left his band to go play with what's left of Led Zepplin. It's just an absent-minded step in the wrong direction.

  • @Minacious from what i understand he left cause he was fighting with the guitarist, that's why Brett's the only original member in the band now, he was leaving anyway, and yeah, the Doors weren't exactly doing anything new, but Brett wasn't going anywhere at the time, it wasn't a choice between the Doors and staying with Fuel, it was either join the Doors and play music with a pair of rock legends or go back to a mediocre life, which would you pick?

  • @demondays7 I would pick ANYTHING but playing old hits with a band that is past their prime. I would find a new crew and turn it into something, like Chris Cornell did with Audioslave when he left Soundgarden.

  • @Minacious you're forgetting the part where Cornell had a three year solo career before the team from Rage invited HIM, not the other way around, Scallions didn't even have THAT option. i think you're giving both of these guys a little than they deserve, no I'm not a rock star, but the music industry doesn't exactly go out way for them

  • @demondays7 *little more credit* - i make typos

  • @demondays7 This song is better than ANYTHING the doors ever did. I don't care if they're rock legends they suck major dick! It just proves there is a whole generation of ass clowns who can't handle their LSD !

  • @tonifreakshow you didn't address my points, honestly its a nice song but come on? Roadhouse Blues, Peace Frog, Spanish Caravan, Break on Through, Love me Two Times, L.A. Woman! i'm almost positive you must not have even listened to them if you can say something like that. and Generation X is the LAST group of people who should be judging anyone by the drugs they abuse. if i had to say so, i'd think maybe you were letting whatever love you have for ONE song make you say stupid things

  • @demondays7 doors do suck man, come on a fucking synthesizer or piano organ? what are are we at church? good thing that shit back in the day was recorded with subpar equipment because if you played that same music in a professional studio today people would laugh at you. the past is dead let jim morrison rest man basta.

  • @tonifreakshow Your a fucking idiot THE END

  • @Minacious plus he was only gone for one album, in fuckin '07, that's three albums into it, a decade after they put THIS song out

  • @demondays7 Let's just agree to disagree. I think The Doors was a step in the wrong direction for someone with the vocal talent of scallions, and it's honestly just too hard for me to find the logic in his decision to play with a much older band. I do respect your opinion though.

  • @Minacious but he looks lost on that stage and you can see it on his face he really doesn't want to be there but he's stuck. not by walls or fences but moral and emotional boundaries and at times you can see that he is trying to have fun but its just an epic fail for him. admit that and i'll leave you be.

  • @xcmhx I can see a bit of a lost look, but I can't really see him not wanting to be there. He doesn't really fit in, but at least he gave it the old college-try. I will admit that it is kind of a fail, but at this point in time he's just an up and coming musician doing back-up vocals. It's times where you don't want to do something and you aren't comfortable doing it, but you do it anyway, that can ultimately build the character needed for a successful career, which he ended up having.

  • @xcmhx It wasn't a TOTAL fail though. He was on cue, and his voice did not at one point overwhelm Brett's. I honestly think his back up singing complimented Brett very well in this. The only fail was his chemistry with the band. We've all been in that position before though. You go to a party where you don't know anyone, and it's hard to socialize? Same thing here.

  • Not acoustic dumbass

  • Remember when bands used to have awesome guitar solos like Carl's? I miss the 90's rock scene more than I can say...

  • @ 1:13, the guy with arms folded just found out his girl slept with the entire band.

  • that gets me tired just watchin him sing that!! awesome though!!

  • Hey Pat Monahan, your screwing up the song, GFY!!!

  • they look like there competing and bretts winning ... too bad his voice went to shit too

  • I didn't know Chris Katan could sing...

  • @MisterBaldieboy Hahaha

  • The performance is tight. The cinematography is tight. The sound is tight. Too bad the dude from Train got invited; he doesn't fit

  • Pat looks like such a dork on the same stage...

  • i think i'm in love 0.0

  • Pat's facial expression at 2:39 was like if he was hit by a train

  • @superjervis haha :) looks like it was

  • I wish I could have seen them live when Carl was with them

Maybe he should just suck it up and come back.

  • @bopperdoo: Exactly.. he's ego is so evident in almost ever interview

  • I miss THIS fuel!!! I've seen them about 2 dozen times when they were in their prime and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see them back together doing what they do best

  • Brett is like hey soul sister just stand over there and let me handle this

  • @JakeSpeicher12 that's not right that u say that...cause if it wasn't for these guys Train wouldn't have a following....they might be "gay" like everyone refers to them...but i wish there were more bands like them now....i'm all set with Gaga and the like.....all glam and bullshit.....no fuckiing music or talent whatsoever

  • @JakeSpeicher12 Lol Epic.

  • who invited the guy from train

  • @apddrfrk

Had to pick up its Fuel...

  • Carl Bell is the genius he writes all the songs

  • @Mr505burque Bell's a great songwriter, but his ego wouldn't let him take a back seat to Scallions, that's why he ran him out of Fuel.

  • Brett Scallions NEVER stop your music, your just Awesome !

  • great sound but they had a bad atitude when they came to play in saginaw, michigan ..acting as if we were lucky to see them, they walked off stage because something wasn't work to par.. then they came back out talking about the money we payed for ticket and did a small show.after that i did care for the band... i lost something for them..

  • an old school hidden gem, had to add it......

  • Hey soul sister :))

  • one of the best bands ive seen live and this funky

  • lol pat kinda reminds me of uncle jesse

  • @trinahere I was thinking the same thing!

  • I wish more bands were like fuel..

  • I wish more bands were like fuel..

  • oh my god....i didnt know he was so sexy

  • One of the last great 90's songs,

  • sons of anarchy amiright?

  • is that the guy from train over their

  • @thinklikeascholar Yep, Pat Monahan

  • @BryanFailsInLife this is the best version i kinda cried so true if you ever read this cortney rusk

  • What a fucking song

  • Well that makes sence now.

  • Song is called: Take Me Away. It's pretty coo.

He's also got a band with a member from the doors called: Riders On The Storm (go figure). Guess what they sound like?

On the Re-fueled tour...Brett kinda lost his awsomeness on the old tunes :' (

    Hopefully I get proven wrong...

  • Brett is doing a tour: Re-fueled. No word on a new album though. Brett has a pretty cool song with some other man-rock dudes. Band is called World Fire Brigade, he does some screaming...pretty sweet.

...actually, his screaming and some vox on one song kinda sound like Mudvayne...I don't even know if I spelled that right...not much of a Mudvayne fan.

    ...Brett's the SHIT!!

  • @almostrod620 It's not Brett screaming in World Fire Brigade. The guy who sounds like Chad Gray from Mudvayne is Sean Danielson from Smile Empty Soul, he's the co-lead vocalist of World Fire Brigade alongside Brett.

  • ok...now I'm confused Brett is not on their FB WTF??? Can a fan inform me please and tell me what the fuck is going on?

  • @djnphaze Brett runs Fuel now with a bunch of his friends, Ken Shalk on drums, Brad Stewart (from Shinedown) on bass and their new guitarist Andy Andersson. Carl gave Brett the rights to the name Fuel in an agreement they worked out. Brett and the new Fuel have said on their MySpace page recently that they are working on new material for a new album.

  • So I just checked the website and Brett is back...I guess they realized that without the strongest link Fuel is not Fuel...I hope they work things out!!!

  • The guitar player wants to be the star......and he tries really hard.....but with Scallions it's pretty effortless....Fuel will NEVER be the same...again....YOU ARE THE STAR Brett*

  • What? Pat Monahan is in this video? He must be hiding behind all the awesome.

  • I grew up next door to Pat Monahan in Erie, Pa. Useless fact that I felt the need to share with everyone

  • @horizons1015 dude thats pretty cool. i grew up next to a man named Rod. :P

  • was pat in fuel?

  • I can hear Pat in background vocals. You must not know Train very well, or Pat's voice, for that matter, if you can't hear him. Love Fuel & Train!!

  • wow!

  • Pat Monahan looks like an ever gayer Jeff Gordon.

    Go Brett.

  • Shout out to the cougars at 2:05.......

  • @rjelder LOL yeah son!

  • Ffaaassss... he's doing backup vocals.. you can hear him in the harmonies

  • wtf is the guy from train doing here? He's not even contributing to the song i cant hear a word he says lol

  • I personally think Pat Monahan adds to the song. His parts aren't really noticeable but him as a back up vocalist adds in a good. When I saw Jimmy Eat World live they had a woman sing with them and she added a depth to every song that made it remarkable. While Pat Monahan may be the worst front man ever as a back up vocalist he did do a good job in this song.

  • that guitar solo is fucking sick.

  • people who are hating on the dude from Train im not sure understand playing live...it is a great feeling and rush having somebody else sit in with you for a song to change up how you play it usually just a bit and add something different.

  • This

  • i saw them back in 2001. they opened for aerosmith at jones beach, NY. awesome combination of bands. one of the best concerts ever

  • I have seen Fuel SO MANY TIMES and this IS one of the best live versions I have ever seen. I used to watch them back in the DAYYYY as "Reel to Real" (house band at Holiday Inn, Hbg). Seen them grow up together and sad when it all ended. This song is one of the best songs EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

  • @MrMoviephreak my parents saw 'em when they were Reel to Real, too. My dad knew they're original drummer...

  • Hip Hopper at 1:12 :D

  • Hip Hopper at 1:12 :D

  • It's a grunge thing!

  • It makes me feel alive.

  • I break at the bend. everyone has a breaking point. Brett's was being matched with a joke like Monahan. Get your own band and you can lead.

  • He looks better without the years of drug addiction

  • I hated this song till I saw this Storytellers and found out what it was about. I actually had the same thing happen to me, I heard this song and I was blown away!

  • brilliant

  • is that train vocalist patrick monahan?

  • I just clicked this video out of simple curiosity. I didn't even knowing this band... Now I can't stop watching it.

  • I don't know what is the meaning of "She said that love is for the fools that fall behind!" I'm sorry if I'm so slow!

  • @leadguitar24 it means love is for stupid people who because they are stupid fall behind which is a bit redundant but sometimes with brilliant, mind expanding lyrics that change your life, or save your life, it's good to really drum the point home. Love is for stupid people.

  • @TubobRainbowUnicorn THANKS! NOW I KNOW!

  • @leadguitar24 You're very welcome and now you "know" you have taken the first step on the path to complete self awareness of the universal magic of Fuel lyrics, the second step is "Knowing and Telling Everyone" is yours if you want it, just share this with everyone, let their minds open and expand and their galaxy shift from monochromatic to neon technicolor, the third step "Knowing and Not Giving a Shit" is when you accept the futility of Fuel lyrics meaning really anything, it is letting go.

  • @TubobRainbowUnicorn you are so right.

  • tribal war music, fuck the audience. first meeting puddle of mud. niggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  • I miss the 90s and early 2000s great music back then.

  • he looks sooo different now

  • @bajesus666 i HATE HOW HE LOOKS NOW YUCK!

  • @MalsAMomma yeah, he looks like a rapist

  • @bajesus666 I agree

  • How long has this song been around?

IT's been a while since I have listened to this,

    Oh the good old memories!

  • pretty impressive performance

  • pat monahan looks scared and mad at the same time

  • hrraaa hrrraaa hurrrrr its all i could hear from this guy

  • 1:13 cool guy is too cool to dance

  • Comment removed

  • Yea he's like, No, I said Hemorrhage in my hands.......

  • Idk who Pat Monahan is, but all he was doing was harmonizing, which I thought he did pretty well at. I don't know why some of you think he had no right to do what he was doing. I doubt he was expecting to have a particular line in a song anyways..

  • Pat Monahan has NO business trying to sing with Brett... He needs to take his easy listening ass back to rock school and do better music, then maybe... just maybe... ;)

  • i get the chills when it picks up

  • never enough video of Carl makin' that guitar smoke...my only complaint...well, also Pat was throwing some bromancy looks Brett's way....and the ladies seem a little older than the usual crowd, other than that perfect

  • It sounds like he's playin acoustic, but it looks like hes playing a telecaster....

  • @skakid0 It might be an acoustic simulator pedal.

  • awesome, FUEL in there prime

  • I like how Scallions doesn't give a single line to Pat Monahan. He's like, you can ride in the Fuel truck just this once, but your sitting bitch.

  • @SwayzeExpressTrain you made me laugh....so funny!!!!

  • @SwayzeExpressTrain I think he was plannin on fading out at the word shimmer tho idk

  • @SwayzeExpressTrain Why was Pat even there?

  • @sickandtwistedchicks it was a vh1 storytellers show. Fuel and Train were both there, Brett did some songs with Train, they did some zeppeling covers too. I saw this story tellers back when it came out. It was amazing, you should look it up.

  • @SwayzeExpressTrain hell yeah!!

  • I just can't help it but the lead singer for Train looks just like the guy on Good Morning America as an anchor.

  • Two amazing artists... one great song!!!!

  • I saw this live. Brett actually asked Pat to sing with him. This was an awesome concert, they took turns interviewing and performing, did a few songs together. Brett took this role in Ramble On when Train was performing it. They didn't do it wrong, they did it exactly how they wanted.

  • The lead guitar part is terrible! That s the best he could do? Otherwise nice vid...

  • @thomasa62 Yeah dude. WTF was up with that horrawful guitar solo!? Other than that, stellar performance.

  • Get train outta there, hes ruining everything.

  • @tyburk23 He's actually incredibly talented, and this video's from way back before he did all this faggot shit he does now. You're probably just prejudice because you don't like Hey Soul Sister (which is reasonable because all of his late stuff really sucks).

  • The very beginning looks like he's jacking it

  • @redbullmx29 lol yeah 0:06

  • @redbullmx29: hahaha

  • Great song. - 1 for douche from train's appearance

  • Let's go back to the 90's again! I miss it.

  • @cavscout0710 Best decade ever for sure!!!!!!

  • why does the train guy not do this kind of music? his rock voice is actually pretty damn sick. his harmonies remind me of layne staley. waste of talent.

  • @JMorr1029 I agree! What a waste!

  • i miss the 90s
