  • How do you get rid of the noise?

  • using the stock lens it will be noise like this. I attached the Ziess lens for it, and it was dead nuts silent, could not hear auto focus. Took mine back though..... : (

  • Thanks for that!

Thats a reason to buy an external mic :-)

  • SSM/HSM lens can help you, or just buy an external mic:)

  • Just need a HSM lens :D

  • what export settings did you use?

  • Get yourself another lens

  • If you want quiet spend the money and get an SSM lens

  • is that a tamron or rokinon by any chance? cuz its kinda slow and pretty load.

  • does it makes that noise if your e using manual focus on video ?!

  • @manelmariarodrigues

No, the sound you are hearing is from the AF motor. Using MF is practicly silent

  • does your camera overheat during video?

  • That noise is from your crap lens!

The 18-55 kit lens doesnt have this noise!!!

  • @oyapon how can you call that 16-80mm crap ?

  • @oyapon

You call Carl Zeiss crap compared to a kit lens?

It may be screw-drive AF, but the optical quality is by far superior to 18-55mm.

  • r u sure?

  • lol, theres a reason why it has a mic imput

  • thats not too bad. does the 16-80 use a ring type motor? wouldnt that be even quieter?

  • Thanks for posting this! The noise is audible but quieter than other DSLR's out there.

  • @dbfenner Not quieter than the Panasonic 14-140mm on my GH2, which is optimized for video and absolutely silent.
