How do you get rid of the noise?

using the stock lens it will be noise like this. I attached the Ziess lens for it, and it was dead nuts silent, could not hear auto focus. Took mine back though..... : (

No, the sound you are hearing is from the AF motor. Using MF is practicly silent

That noise is from your crap lens!
The 18-55 kit lens doesnt have this noise!!!

You call Carl Zeiss crap compared to a kit lens?
It may be screw-drive AF, but the optical quality is by far superior to 18-55mm.

thats not too bad. does the 16-80 use a ring type motor? wouldnt that be even quieter?

Thanks for posting this! The noise is audible but quieter than other DSLR's out there.

@dbfenner Not quieter than the Panasonic 14-140mm on my GH2, which is optimized for video and absolutely silent.
