  • looks cool how the crabs die. shit, this whole game looks awesome maybe i gotta get me a saturn. i always have been sega fanboy scum

  • My first RPG on the Sega Saturn. I loved it. Albert Odyssey, Dragon Force and even Legend of Oasis. How I wish I can go back to those days again.

  • My Personal Best Game Ever....T_T

  • Wish Sega would rerelease this for either the DS or the 3DS

The dungeons in 3D would be amazing to look at on the 3DS screen IMO, and playing while on the go is convenient =)

  • Those scissor crabs were a royal pain when first encountered...

  • Aww what a classic!! Love the music! And I remember this dungeon. It was a pain in the ass!! hahaha so glad I bought this game when it was released <3

  • i love this game better than ff7

  • @1975doddy i m nope a gay but i love you,

haha... the monster monster roar really scary

when u playing this at midnight (alone)

  • I've not played this game yet, but I really like how it appears to handle random encounters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the enemies always ambush you from out of corners or in other pre-determined locations?

  • @sirjazzhands

Not really. The spots they attack at are completely random; that being said, depending on what spaces are around the spot they're attacking from, they can attack from a variety of different angles, which is where the pixies come into play (send out the correct kind for the correct angle for a quick attack). So no, they don't always ambush from corners, but yes, if the opportunity is there, they might do just that.

Make sense? It's kind of hard to explain.

  • @ShdwHg I really cannot grasp the pixie concept until I play it. And play it I will, for I have become a crazy Camelot fanboy. I really enjoy Shining in the Darkness and Shining Force, and can't wait to get to SFII, SFCD, SFIII, and Holy Ark. For some reason I can't get into Golden Sun, though. Maybe it's because it's on a handheld, as shallow of a reason that may be.

  • Are you playing this on an emulator/rom? If so, where did you get it?

  • @AdventCloudStrife

no I was playing it on a sega saturn. game was bought from ebay.

  • I just bought this on ebay for a pretty penny. I have been looking for this for years. Now I just have to get my paws on Shining force 3. I started with shining force and darkness as a kid in the 80s

  • Its one of the best game in all time.

  • I to love this game, but i got stuck at this one place and did not know what to do. Its a mansion with flying books and chest and chair and i think it said to do something with the objects, but i could not figure it out. DAMN

  • I love this game. Still have it. A half year ago I played it all over again and I am sure I will do so in 10 years again :)

  • this is the best first person rpg ever, highly addictive.wizardry sucks so much in front of it

  • Looks brill. There were some fab saturn games.Shame it was that hard too program for and therefore hard to emulate.else the saturn may have had a longer life and we today could enjoy some of the games on xbox live arcade or similar..

  • Rodi: My favorite character from this game. And the thing is, I believe they(the water based things that come out of the puddles and the scissor crabs) alternate on regular and special attacks. Guard on the special turns , and just attack on the regular ones.

  • It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

  • I remember crabs like that from Shining in the Darkness. I wish I'd had a chance to play this, the design looks phenomenal, with the characters and animation. Looks like there are some interesting options too. What do the pixies do?

  • there are 50 to find. you have a different set they relate to attacking monsters depending on where the monsters appear from. ie you need to select the right pixie if the monster appears from the left of the screen, far distance from the screen, bottom of the screen, right of the screen etc..

  • great game that I proudly completed. it took a long long long time though. some of those boss battles took ages and some tricky puzzles.

  • those crabs were a nightmare in that dungeon.. they took forever to beat for just normal monsters. And they appeared so frequently. lol

  • I left it for a while and came back to it. Now I have no clue what I'm doing. Guess I'll have to restart. :(

  • those crabs had boss like HP lol

  • This looks very interesting. Lucky for me, this game doesnt sell for much on ebay according to the last time I checked.

  • Why this battle BGM is so good is that Motoi Sakuraba (one of my favorite VGM makers) made this track

  • This is my favorite RPG period!!! I'm going on ebay and buying a Saturn and this game. Oh the memoeries.

  • I just kill the crabs with some heavy magic. OR

    sometimes i run away.

  • god damn i loved this game!!

  • I kinda stopped playing this one because of those crabs. No regular enemy should take that damn long -_-

This does have alot better battle music then I remember. *Goes to find soundtrack*

  • The dungeon crawling part reminds me of a few random games and an anime that feature such. The game is intersting, and something I would definitly try one day. :)
