They spray it with, fibreglass, sand, salt(s), weave wool into it whilst it grows, weave fishing line into it while it grows (one to seriously watch out for).

Mate mate even powered some LEAD and sprinkled it into an ounce a dealer gave him short an he had to sell.

The new one they're coming out with is watered down PVC glue because it dries transparent, the only way you can tell is if the ash is rock solid.
