Alan Carlin was an economist for the EPA...He has no kowledge about the subject on this (AGW). It has also been shown that these cherry picked graphs ( which he really doesn't know anything about, were plagiarized by Carlin. Here's a guy who plagairized a cooked up a bogus paper, (Soon and Baliunas), and he does it on taxpayer's dollar. Notice how he's careful to note that his "opinion" is his and not the EPA. Shame on him!

2002-2008, that's like judging the a day's temperature by taking measurements from 12:00 midnight to 1:00 am and the assuming the trend will continue. So let us just ignore that this "trend" ended in 2009. That's not enough time to mark a trend. You need at least 2 decades of data before you can judge a trend and even then you can't be certain.

I don't know if global warming is taking place or not skeptics are saying that the scientist that did this study fudged their numbers, used unreliable data sources, programmer comments proved that they played with the calculations to get the desired results and then they blackballed scientists with contradictory evidence. The scientific process requires validation. Share the raw data and verify the results.

And pretty much the whole scientist conspiracy thing the "skeptics" (as opposed to actual skeptics who only dispute the method that should be used to deal with global warming) talk about is utter crap. @TrueMetis: I also have to add that the motivation behind this whole movement is the creation of a new energy tax that does nothing to curb our carbon footprint and results in the redistribute of our wealth. Are you going to walk to work on Monday? Are you going to heat your home this winter? A common sense approach to acquiring alternate energy sources isn't more taxes and government. We should drill our own oil and invest those profits in the development of alternate energy sources.

My country also puts strict controls on it in order to make it as environmentally friendly as possible. The temperature change on mars is completely different from earths, the martians atmosphere is different, it has massive sandstorms and no oceans. You can't compare on to the other. As I live in sweden I have never belivied in "global warming" Still I think it is a good idea to build electric cars and stuff, but the temperature certainly is'nt getting hotter. A couple of years ago I had almost no snow in the region I live in, and in the following years winter has become colder by each year. I suppose we could continue making things "green" mostly to make more energy efficent technology.

But they dont have to force us to believe that "global warming" is real.

Global warming is their common interest. They fund the science for it and leading scientists evolved were recently caught with their pants down. We now have hard evidence that they disregarded conflicting data, withheld raw data, tweaked programs that made their projections and black listed those with opposing positions. The scientific process requires debate and verification. We havent seen such poor science since the dark ages when scientists were executed for thinking the world was round.

You have hard proof that two scientists (not even leading scientists) used poor wording during their e-mail conversations relating to their small part in the total research. Science does need debate, but it also needs to abide by the rules for respectable studies. These criteria have never been fulfilled by climate sceptics.

Gore means nothing to me. For earth to cool in the last 9 years, the OCEANS have to be cooling (after all, they are 95% of what we mean when we say 'earth'), and they are warming. The CRU data indicates cooling (if you aren't a statistician), the other data sources on air temperatures show WARMING in the last 9 years. Ice ages have always been known to be caused by orbital variations (Milankovic cycles), so what's with your Fred Flintstone reference?

Thousands of E-Mail messages were recently hacked from a leading global warming research facility in England. These messages demonstrated that the "scientists" were fudging numbers and discarding conflicting data. Source code for a program analyzing their data had extremely damaging comments embedded within it. Several scientists were fired over this incident. There is a conspiracy here. GE and OPEC stand to make Billions on this and our global enemies gain much from an energy weak US.

GE will probably benefit alot from GW, but they will also have to alter their entire infrastructure to do so, cutting their profit margins enormously.

China and India are the biggest polluters on the planet. When we raise our costs to produce, production will be moved to those countries who have much less regard for the environment. GE owns tons of green tech patents and they stand to make billions? OPEC gains when the US is stopped from drilling its vast oil reserves. We have more oil in the US than any country in OPEC. Imagine if we drilled our own oil and invest the $2 dollars a barrel we give to our enemies to develop Green tech.

China and India aree bigger polluters than the US, but not if you account for the amount of people in it. The US is increadibly close with a population of less than a third of China (or India). Also the two developing nations are far more active in reducing their emissions, than the US (at least pre-Obama).

OPEC gains from limited US drilling only if oil is continued to be used. GE will gain from clean tech, but so will you, if you embrace it.
