I guess that makes me redneck. My first year syrup-ing I used a tinfoil turkey pan, ended up with 5 pints, though I did find that when the fire licks the pan up by the rim, it creates a black rim and when I poured the syrup out of the pan.....some of the black stuff was still in my syrup, even after filtering.
Can you make maple syrup from any variety of maple trees or strictly the sugar maple? Like how about red maple, black maple and silver maple? Do they work as well? Thanks!

You can make Maple Syrup with all types of Maple Tree. The Sugar content in the tree is the difference. Sugar Maple is the best.

Gotta Love Maple syrup Season!!! Very proud to have sampled some of that maple syrup in it's end state, it was mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmm mmmm Good!!
