  • they need 2 come out with a new version of this show

  • vcr thats funny wow what lucky guy

  • i forgot jim lange hosted name that tune....i remember lange more for the $1,000,000 chance of a lifetime...

  • Thumbs up if you watched this just to hear the wheel sound effect.

  • look at that so new and high tech vcr recorer. I kid, I still use one

  • I hated it when they didn't play Melody Roulette in the tournament. However, they made up for it when they trashed the stage with balloons, confetti, streamers, and sometimes bunting after someone won $100,000.

  • I love these old game show...

  • @keith81081 I also loved that wheel itself

  • I remember watching this as a kid on USA Cable, the Family Channel and when I was 2 when it used to be on KYW 3 in the afternoons when KYW used to be NBC

  • I used to watch this every night @6:30p when I was 8 years old!

  • how many of the women in this show put there cash winnings inside there bra cup? i wonder if someone asked them to?

  • Blue on Blue, heartache form heartache, blue on blue, now that we are bluuuuue.

    Fun game show this was

  • Jersey vs. NYC! And they had to go to Hollywood to do it!

  • LOVE the sound FX of the spinning wheel on Melody Roulette, it's so great to listen to.

  • Hahahah he was so thrilled to get a VCR... that thing was in the pawn shop the other day for -5 cents.. they actually give you money to take it from them

  • I learned about this show in math yesterday lolz

  • haha the guy is from jersey lol

  • Imagine, A Game Show where knowing your Songs can help you win over $100,000 in Cash and Prizes. Name That Tune was the Show where you can do that.

  • This must be an eraly version because I remember they spinned the wheel once and the amounts were bigger.

  • Don't tell me to grow up! I'm already an adult!

  • This show had an awesome set.

  • I live for Melody Roulette!!!

  • Awesome! I used to watch this on USA after school... and on sick days I'd watch the whole gameshow block. It was great. Even though I didn't know much of the tunes, NTT was an exciting show to watch.

  • I Remember Watching With Mom Back In The Late 80's & The Early 90's.

  • Awesome!! thx for the posting!!

    Brings back memories!!

    Jim Lange rules!!!!

  • I like the look and the sound of the Melody Roulett Wheel.

  • I like the Look of the Melody Roulette Wheel.

  • When I always watched this show I was always focused on the band.

  • What a great show. I hope it comes back to Tv soon.

  • Don't blame me. Blame the RIAA for not letting any station air this.

  • Hmm...where did you find THAT info?

Though I wouldn't doubt that would be true. The copyright rules are fucked up here in the US. I've never seen anyone ever be pissed that people give free advertising to something in my life.

"I made this and I want you to hear/see it, but not without my written consent, proof of residence, full credit check, cavity search, my second piece of written consent, and permission for me to be able to lock it from anyone else's reach."

    Seriously!

  • The reason that I said that statement is because Game Show Network or any other network could have aired this show. However, the Recording Industry Association of America(RIAA) wouldn't allow that because of the music being used. In order for NTT to be aired, the network that airs the show has to have music clearences since some of the music is copyrighted.

I am not talking about you posting the clip. I really appriciated you for bringing up this clip. I am sorry if I offended you.

  • @FRANK172 who gives a fuck if the asshole got offended...everyone gets offended at every little thing nowadays...which is perpetrated by niggers and ghetto rat niggerisms...because niggers are offended at everything and playing the race card.

  • @DrFubarProzak Please DO NOT CURSE AT ME. I do not like people cursing at me.

  • @FRANK172 dude...grow up

  • Hap lives just over the raritan river from me.

  • I remember the USA Network reran this for quite a few years! Well into the 1990's I think.

  • I like the way they handed out cash money$. Hap was a big winner on another video.

  • Sweet baby jesus of Nazareth!

  • If anything needs to be on a boxed DVD set, it's Name That Tune and Sale of the Century.

  • For some reason, I remember when the contestants on NTT playing Melody Roulette would each spin one side of the wheel... but I was growing up in the 80s. I'm such an oldie. :-)

  • Game shows will always be better than these 'so-called' reality shows

  • Melody Roulette was the only reason I watched this show.

  • me too

  • Need an MP3 of that Melody Roulette "song" :-)

  • Hap was introduced on a tournament show as Happy Muddywater Trout. Was this a joke, or was that his name?

  • Check out Hap tugging at his blazer and pumping his fist in the air in time to the end of the theme song at the 1:25 mark. Subtle yet brilliant.

  • Great spot

  • COME ON DOWN!!!!!!

You're the next contestant on Name That Tune!

  • I love it when they tied up 2-2 and spun for a tiebreaker. Pretty symbolic that the last tune was worth the most money. I miss this show, and Hap totally swept that round of Tune Topics :D

  • They should come up with a brand new "$1 Million Dollar Name that Tune" for 2009. Keep the song, but have Tim Allen host the show.

  • Yeah, totally! Keep the theme music to preserve the character of the original 80s Name That Tune. Maybe, other options for hosts could be Richard Roundtree or Timothy Hutton. Who knows, but they should bring this back!

  • Or better yet, why not just get Tom Kennedy out of retirement?

  • I always loved that double wheel, it was the coolest thing in gameshows at the time.

  • No matter how much time goes by, I'll always feel like a kid when watching Name That Tune.

  • Call me crazy, but Hap looks like the villain Liberace played on the 60's Batman tv show.

  • boy oh god this takes me back! :3 thanks for uploading

  • Awesome VCR!

  • I remember Jim doing Name That Tune after Bullseye has cancelled.

  • J.D. Roth: Listen and name that tune.

("Sex and Candy" by Marcy Playground plays.)

    Quickie: "Sex and Candy."

    J.D. Roth: You got it!

  • I can already Tell This is going to be a good episode. Carol looks like someone who has studied for a long time and is excited. Hap may be very knowledgable and a great match for Carol. I wonder if Hap's resturant is called "The Happy Trout" it's a name that's fitting with his name and is catchy. The Melody Roullette round went okay but a heartbreaker on some spins but it went all right. P.S. it's the first time that i'm the 1st viewer and first commenter !!!!
