@Radman916 The Suzuki 650 Dr Is As Big As About The Size Of A 250 Dirt Bike Where As I Find The KLR Is Huge O_O The 650 Dr Is A Much Better Looking Bike For The Same Amount Of Power ;]
So why did you choose the DR650se over the DR-Z400s? I picked the DR-Z400s over a BMW G450X because of better reliability and serviceability (the Bimmer requires an engine rebuild every 70 hours or so at a minimum) and a Husky TE630 because the closest dealer was 2.5 hours away so servicing the bike would have been a nightmare.
Nice bike. You're a lucky dude. I'm envious & especially like the rear rack you installed. Change the oil often & you'll have a bullet proof bike that will provide you with years of smiles. I ride a Honda XR650L. The Suzuki & Honda are quite similar & my first choice for a 650 dual sport before the ubiquitous KLR650's.
I just bought an 09 today. I like the spedo on yours better. I have owned 2 klr 650's and decided I wanted to try something a little lighter. How is the top end on it?
Nice bike. I want to get a DR 650 myself for exploring. Being a short guy I'll need to have the seat lowered to 33 inches. I'm wondering if you also had that done since your bike has a side kick stand?
so which bark busters did u get, i found the moose racing website but i dont know which ones to get, i have a dr650 but i dont know which set of bark buster to get i dont know which 1 would fit
These bikes haul ass! My dad has 1 with dirt tires on it and it kills my 85 in 3rd, my friends 125 in 3rd and my friends 250 2t in 4th idle xD. The only downside is that they are as heavy as fuk
hi, im thinking of buying this bike and im just wondering, how hard and narrow is the seat (how long is it before you have to stop and rest your arse lol)? what's the top speed?
thanks
and btw, if you get a supertrapp IDS2 exhaust, these bikes sound awesome :D
i do 85-90 on mine no problem low rpms, i have stock gearig and bike is full stock except i drilled another hole in the carburetor slide and put a #4 washer under the needle , i do 70 in 4th gear and 110 in 5th but thats pushing it
@gamer025 Ive had mine for a few weeks and I can tell you that if you want to ride on the highway you need to adjust the pilot jet screw located in front center of the float bowl.
The screw is blocked by a brass plug mandated by the epa. just drill it out and adjust the pilot in about 1/4 turn to start. you will notice a huge increase in power as the factory settings are intentionally restricted. I just did mine last night and i am seeing a difference of about 25kms available in each gear.
Hey guys, I'm looking into getting one of these, but I'm kinda worried that I might be too big for it. I'm 6'2 260-270 pounds, is that too big? If it is, Is there another Dual Purpose bike that would be good for my size? thanks! Great bike and great vid!
Lol these bikes were made for tall people. There is different settings u set the springs on these bikes, so if u are a little too tall u can raise it. The Honda XR650L is probably the tallest dual sport. Or the Yamaha WR250R.
Excellent bike, I have mine DR 650 SE 2008 model is a powerful machine!

Curious about your reasons.

In my opinion, that is the best year and color you got there! Sweet bike man! I would love to have one of those in addition to my ZX10R!

nice looking firebird/trans am in back.
I read the seat sucks that true?
linoleumcarving 2 years ago
For the DR or the Trans am? lol
The DR seat isn't the greatest, but it's really not all that bad at all. Corbin makes a really nice Gel seat just for DRs
Nascarlee 2 years ago
Well, if Suzuki makes it lighter, then the street riders will complain that it gets blown around too much on the Interstate.

@texascivic good point there mate... u can't please every one,

I like the color schemes on the older DRs than the solid black like my '09. But fun as hell bike!
Gunstar1986 2 years ago
Dragon, the bike is heavy for a dual sport, it doesnt matter if its street legal its still a dirtbike and they could've made it lighter

Amazing that these get such good mileage. It's most often advertised as 52 but your right its pretty easy to get over 60.
