She's great in everything she does. Most women are lucky to get one brilliant, complex role, let alone several. I particularly loved her in Six Degrees, and The West Wing. She has incredible presence on screen, and she was the PERFECT woman to play Martin Sheen's wife; she came off as smarter than him.

I agree with you. I'm from Italy and it's a shame that she's well known in Europe just to be Betty Rizzo in Grease. In my opinion she's one of best American actresses of her generation. Brilliant, dramatic... as you said she's great in everything she does.

It seems to me she is a bit underrated.

Yeah the film was low budget, wut if you notice, in a lot of Stockards films, she brings so many of her own clothes, shoes, and jewlery. In sparkle, im positive that i read she wore mainly all her own clothes for the film.
