  • I remember that dress - Laura (Genie) looked gorgeous in it.

  • And I'm supposed to believe that Laura isn't the love of his life. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...

  • Why did Genie leave the show?

  • Imagine the difficulty of doing this scene with about 2 dozen people standing around!

  • This is good stuff. Poor guy didn't know what to do with himself. She was the only one who kept him grounded.

  • Is that the Wyndham's dress? Did they go back and buy it?

  • This was very hard for me to watch back in the day as a Luke and Laura fan, it was difficult because Genie had left and I did not know if I would ever see Luke and Laura again.

  • This was so hard to watch back in the day, to know Genie had left, and not knowing if we would ever see them together again, it was painful as a fan.

  • I've never seen this scenen before... Very powerful... thank you so much for posting.

  • His best performance. This was great...I always think of this scene when I think of Tony Geary.

  • I have been looking for this scene forever. In my (faulty) memory i thought he had danced around the room with the dress:) .That is THE Luke & Laura song!

  • Geez, that scene still puts my heart in my throat. Tony Geary doing Luke's grief over Laura, a any time in their history is just the most amazing acting. There has never been or will ever be another couple like that. I can't believe we are being denied a proper continuation/conclusion to daytime's best love story.

  • anthony geary and jonathan jackson I believe still to be the best daytime actors of any soap they are amazing to watch!! awesome luke clip

  • @krisj9999 JJ does nothing for me

  • How did you get this? No VCR's back in the early 80's.

  • Actually there were VCR's back then!LOL I have an entire collection of VHS tapes starting back in 1977 of Tony scenes. There will be more coming for the celebration of Tony's 30 anniversary on GH!

  • Looking forward to more "Classic Luke"!!

  • sir I hate to burst your bubble but Tony wasn't on GH in 1977...he didn't join until the tail end of 1978. He was the last person Monty hired to complete her new "GH" The first actress she hired was Engish rose Anna Lee best known from the sound of music. She was great at gettting movie legends on there.(Jane Elliot and David Lewis were also movie legends)

  • the 80's aren't the 'ice age' LOLOLOL We had vcr's they were very expensive tho.

  • @char4him99 yep just like laptops are expensive now, Maybe we should of went on Sale of the Century and won one where we could buy one for $11 going once going twice...

  • Originally there were the BETAMAX machines around 1976, then the VCRs followed around 1979.

  • ahhhh Betamax that takes me back I still think the quality was better than VHS but VHS was cheaper and better marketed.

  • LOL! I got my first VCR for xmas 1982 and home machines had been around a few years. First thing I recorded was Ryan's Hope. I still have my tape of the premiere of Airwolf after the Superbowl in 1983.

  • Wow I guess I just forgot that we did have the technology to record. But the first VCR's were very expensive. My first on I bought in 1986 for $475.00 and it was a Fisher 2 head recorder. Wow what a rip off. I just wanted to record tv shows.

  • @pokeopolis yeah youpaidafortuneandtheydidn't even staygood long. I still got my VCR that I bought in 2000 from a job I got after turning 20.Still works like a charm.

  • Wow that is some powerful acting! And that's coming from a guy

  • Die beste Serie die ich jeh sah!!!! Wahnsinn! Danke für diesen Film.....!

  • What a crappy room where was this that after their wedding that they lived in this hole.

  • this was the haunted star. it was actually luxurious. it's crappy because he made a wreck of the place!

  • let'snotforgetLukeisnotoldmoneyliketheQ's.

  • Fabulous scene. This site makes me love soaps all the more. Now this was when she went to the island and was forced to be with stavros and concieved nikolas right?

  • Shedidn't"Went"thereshewasheldagainstherwillbuthewasn'tconceivedrightoffthebat

  • OMG! It doesn't matter how many times I see Tony do this, it kills me every time. You can just feel the angst and pain - and when he takes the ring off - it breaks my heart!!!!

  • Boy, I sure do love these classic vids from GH's glory days!

    Tony Geary is absolutely sensational!

This has to be the scene that won him the Emmy in '82. Can anyone confirm?

  • How did she "die" here?

  • She was kiddnapped by the Cassedines, and they made it look like she drowned.

  • OMG I remember this!

    I love TG he rocks!

  • Omg. I was hoping someone would post this. It's just as powerful today as it was 25 yrs. ago. Thanks!!!!

  • wow

  • Great actor in a great scene. Nobbody has been better on Daytime than Anthony Geary.

  • Tonyain'tgoodnomore.thiswastheeighties.Heisn'ttheonlyonewhoslefthismarkondaytimetelevisionand noone may ever compare to him from the 80's but you ppl must see that just because of those stories in the 80's doesn'tmeanhesstillinbigover the top stories. His success in stories have waned, he gets WAY too much vacation and he's such a JERK!

  • OMG I remember this I cried dammit it's got me crying 25 years later!

  • Thank you for giving us such a "classic Luke" scene. I just knew it would be Luke to wreck the room in his despair. Also, great song he turned on. I wept right along with him.
