The city of Scranton, Pa. has been victimized by a brutally corrupt and selfish man who, unfortunately, is the mayor, Christopher A. Doherty. He promised a world of efficiency and accountability when he ran for office. What we got was a deceit, corruption, lies, backstabbing and the most reckless spending spree of any single mayor in the history of the State of Pennsylvania. Mayor Doherty has used Scranton, every taxpayer penny and every city-owned asset to try to buy his way to higher office.

He now has us buried under an enormous mountain of debt that is approaching $300,000,000.00, the highest debt of any city in the state. But, with what to show for it? Nothing!

Doherty owes this penalty, owes the union award, owes the $200 million in bond debt, owes the $3 million on the Hilton, owes the $1 million in the DEP sewer fine. And we have no quick response system, no ss complex, no golf course, a degraded park, the zoo is going under, the ice box is profiting for free, taxes went up, we have the highest wage tax in the state, he's spent almost $7 million on his administration raises and new job creations, and.....whew...I'm out of breath.
