@xXxSTENCHxXx yep, cheesburgers @ McDonald's were 59 cents when I was in high school...they were that price for a long time if i remember correctly. Now most places just bump the price up every 6 months to a year. Sad, what went wrong that corporations got so greedy?
@xXxSTENCHxXx yep, cheesburgers @ McDonald's were 59 cents when I was in high school...they were that price for a long time if i remember correctly. Now most places just bump the price up every 6 months to a year. Sad, what went wrong that corporations got so greedy? oh, and "kind of thin" John Goodman @ 0:41 ha ha.
everything seemed bright and sunny back then. Nothing beat saturday mornings in the 80's. It is something I will never forget. Oh and lets not forget things like reading rainbow, the movie loft, creature double feature...etc etc
Who wants to help me build a time machine and travel back in time to live the 80's just one more time or for that matter just stay there..You never know what you have till its gone.
I remember New York Seltzer! My mom used to buy it all the time Do they still sell it in California? Ahh, the less successful Grubby doll, Teddy Ruxpin used to be da boom for us 80s kids. I recall the Crayola promotion because my mom and stepdad took me(newlyweds at the time) to McDonalds just to get it!
i loled at the commercail when the guy said freeze to the lady with a price scanner
one more thing i was born 2001 (10 years old)and i love the 80s because i never seen anything from then and most shows today like dan vs and fanboy and chumchum suck so i really hope that the hub (plays alot of 80s shows like transformers and honeyishrunk the kids tv show)even plays 80s commercails but i bet that will never happen but i might start a group on facebook to change that
It's funny how you can grow up in a decade like the 80's, and not realize until you look back 25 years later that it was one of the greatest decades of the 20th century.
The malaize of the 70's brought us Ronald Reagan in the 80's. Hopefully the election of 2012 will bring forth another Reagan who will inspire our nation to be great again.!!
The 7-Eleven commercial says Eveready batteries yet they're showing Energizer... and they're way cheaper than now... D@#! you inflation and crappy economy!!! I miss the 80's... they were my golden years. The summers lasted forever... *sigh*
@pb9882 The company history is confusing, but at this point Energizer was a brand of batteries produced by Eveready. These days it's the other way around.
meh, i was technically born in the 80s but was too young to live it.
and i watched a lot of older shows anyway, even before 80s, like popeye, betty boop, daimos, hawaii 5-0, 60s batman, flintstones, and 3 stooges cartoon. i grew up on black and white tv in the early 90s.
Man.....this brings back so many memories from my childhood. I was born in 1980. Things today are so much more complicated. I would do anything to go back to the 80's....maybe I need to get a hold of Michael J. Fox. Anyway everything was better then, the toys the cartoons, does anybody remember saturday morning cartoons? That's definately a thing of the past.....what a damn shame.
that show Roomies looks good, I cant wait 'till Friday! but im gonna have to record Night Court on wednesday, anybody know how to set the timer on this VCR? I remember the newscast that said women victory in the work place.. cuz my mom came home and said she got a 40 cent raise lol
1:12 - It might sound weird but I really miss those McDonald's cups. My sister and I used to poke holes in the bottom and let them slowly drain out over the table when we left McDonald's.
The 80's was a great decade, but this decade(2010-2019) isn't getting better at all and it hasn't even been a year and its already starting off on the wrong path and continuing to suck ass from 2000-2009.
@mjdc2505: I dunno. CN brought back the Cartoon Cartoons each afternoon, The Hub airs classics--Fraggle Rock, Carmen Sandiego, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Happy Days, Wonder Years, etc.--Nick is putting its 90's lineup both on DVD by Shout Factory & on TeenNick this fall, Disney is bringing back 2D Winnie the Pooh and is considering a Mickey Mouse full-length animated feature due to the success of Kingdom Hearts and Epic Mickey, & more.
It's funny...a few years after the end of the 80's I thought it was such a lame decade. Now I think "it was totally awesome dude!" Not to mention the feeling of getting old. LOL
I have determined the 80s were the height of culture in this country. I miss 1987. Pretty much the entire decade rocked, unlike the shitty decade we're in now. It has a lot of time still to get better, but it probably won't get any better.
These commercials were all goofy and fun. they had character. They were dumb .not like today's serious commercials. Now its all about technology. No more real fun :(
I remember that Amazing Stories episode. The girl (Gennie James) disappeared while at a picnic, her body was never found, and 40 years later she shows up at her parents' front door looking exactly the same. Gennie was in "Places In The Heart" with Sally Field but hasn't acted in over 20 years now.
HAHA @ John Goodman. Try to get away with saying "I hate her" these days in a commrcerial referring to your wife. He's a pretty intese guy as it is... I'm almost convinced he wasn't acting. :)
Damn that cheeseburger was looking so good in that happy meal video. I was never a kid to play with the toy first. I ate my Mc Donald's first and played with the happy meal toy much later.
Those babies in the Luvs commercials are 30 years old now. LOL
Ah, the 80s is a generation worth living in, low prices, good economy, singing in most commercials, but on the other hand, some 80s rackets were kinda creepy. :/
I loved seeing the guy from "Square One TV" in the McD's commercial! (And I had the red stencil, too!) I also had the Flinstone Kids "Betty" glass, although since my family never ate at Pizza Hut, I have no idea where we got it. I think it's still in my parents' basement somewhere. :-)
All I wanna know is where did the time go? I remember all these commercials and prices of things were no where near as high as they are now. Why can't we go back to when things were cheap in the 80s?
Everything was so happy and jolly, nothing perverted and depressing. Gosh, I wish these commercials came on tv now.
