I get what you're saying but thats not what hip hop is. Hip Hop is a lifestyle consisting of Graffiti writing, DJing, Mcing and fashion as its basic elements. what we call hip hop music today is just rap music but not really authentic "hip hop rap" music. Authentic "hip hop-rap" has to meet certain criteria which most of todays rappers don't even know lol. Kanye however does know the true hip hop criteria and mixes authentic "hip-hop-rap" and todays "pop-rap" if that makes sense.

Kanye West place is assured as one of the greatest artists in rap Music and Music full stop.

He is one of one of the great producers and unlike most producers turned performers a very good rapper in his own right. There are better rappers but not many. Add up his production, writing and rhyming ability and I challenege you to name anbody who consistently produces better records than him. He could retire now and tour for years to come on the strength of his first four albums.
