jack white gives mr reid his due, him and his motley crew, forgive my spelling recounters, the last rock and roll band to touch those waters, my hats off mr white southwest detriot thanks you i hope you do a copy of may-fly or if your so inclined. tinker, tailor.
GO Terry! You just cannot duplicate the wail. Love and know Cheap Trick personally, but they chose it because they agreed and loved him so much. I always will, too...
killer song. thanks for the upload. brings back bittersweet memoires of barrelling down the road in a doomed chevrolet with a fifth of whiskey and a big joint. one is glad to have survived a misspent youth in a place that had little to offer except for the chance to develop creative ways, and not so creative ones as well, of dealiing with the everpresent ennui. now, listening to this tune in yokohama, japan while enjoying retirement, makes me feel thankful for the craziness of years gone by.
@rickanna this guy sings it better, but cheap trick bass and guitars are more on point. tom peterson did a good interpretation of the begining lick and switching it to bass instead
One of the signature songs of Terry Reid. Just a fantastic talent. I consider myself fortunate to have seen him perform live in the Detroit, Mi area in the late 60's early 70's. A tremendous talent!!!!
pretty cool song, when im listening to solar, a Chilean band, and their song "Reina sexy" i remeber all the good things that reid make for the music, awesome dude!!!

First time that I have heard this and I am impressed. Trick stayed pretty close to form.

There was also a cover single of this song by Christopher Milk, a clever, American glam/theatrical band reputed to have influenced Cheap Trick...

What I like about Cheap Tricks cover is they don't change it a bit, why change a great song?

Way cool song! Like the build up at the beginning and the breaks. We used to do our best to play this in the garage band I was in.

Folks, it's 2009, and Terry continues to dazzle. Go see him and you'll agree.

I find this version is way better because of the vocals! But that's my opinion... :P

Right on :) Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I just happen to agree... but I think I'm biased lol

Hehe of course you are! You didn't smoke and chit-chat with Cheap Trick, but you did with Terry... just sayin' :PPP

A couple of years back I used to think that it was originally by Cheap Trick. Their version is great, but this is good as well!

Thanks for posting. Wanted to hear the original version and it's cool. Cheap Trick's version rocks big time.
