Churches need to get out of the business of educating kids. The fundamentalism to be found in Jamaica helps to brain wash people into excepting a shitty life on earth and waiting for the glory in heaven. This Christian Talabanism helps to perpetuate the sexual confusion to be found in the society. Sex is evil, women conceive in pain for falling from God's grace, people are to be fruitful and multiply and other such primitive madness. Jamaica needs less religion and more spirituality.

Jamaica is a blessed country despite everything thats been happening, and church schools dont brainwash little kids, they're like normal school except they teach u to pray..and correct me if i'm wrong isn't prayer and religion in some way connected to spirituality..if anything we need more God and less of everything else.

Jamaica is no more blessed than any other country,it's the people who bring blessing upon themselves by the acts they do or choose. Jamaican schools do brainwash children.They teach you to hate other religious beliefs.Catholics are not saved because they worship saints,the Pope's the anti-christ, Rastas r doomed to hell they worship Selassie,Hindus worship many gods they go to hell,Buddhist have no god they go to helland on & on.Gays burn in hell and r stoned.Religion in JA ONE LOVE.

well i dont know wat schools u've been attending but when i was at school i was taught about different religions and how ppl worship and we were never once told that these ppl are goin to hell bcuz of their type of religion. Not to mention a few hindus and rastafarians were apart of the student body. hey alot of Jamaicans are closed minded when it comes to diff religions but ur making it seems as if all schools are doing this.. and thats where think u are wrong.

all me know is when mi go school yuh have devotion, sing two song, probably read a scripture and say a prayer and thats it....and i've attended chruch of christ basic school....catholic prep school and a christian high school...i kno there are those christians who act all holy and condemn every1 else who dont share their beliefs but i've never experienced that "In" school and alot of ppl i've spoken never had either..so hey maybe only the schools u or other ppl u kno attend do that kinda stuff..

For me, I'd like to see more common sense, and a willingness to work hard and sacrifice for the common good, rather than merely for one's own betterment.

Spirituality is based on self awareness and one's personal relationship with the universe it is not religion. Cause and effect and logical thinking are part of spirituality. There is no religious organization nor hierarchy in spirituality. Spirituality places one in context with their environment and their relationship with others. Spirituality is about sacrifice and caring for others as well as the environment of which we are part of.

I try to do all those things - how does "spirit" come into it? Not disagreeing with the substance of what you say but the word "spiritual" seems to be a sop to those who seem to think that one's values and ethics must be based on some "higher power". If such be the case with yours - FINE, but It certainly need not be so. Some of the most compassionate societies are not religion-based, while the US Bible-Belt is notoriously selfish and discriminatory. Go figure...

Spiritality is just something Americans came up with in order to not be tied to a religion, and isn't it ironic how Spirituality came from the word Spirit which comes from the Bible "Holy Spirit", hence connected to the Christian religion and yet it is being used in a self-serving way of approaching the issue and something you only hear from those who describe themselves as being spiritual...they even created a new religion called Scientology which has everyting to do with spirituality itself..
