  • Is there any problem with the knees coming inward ?

  • @eowdaoc Generally yes, but In Kendrick's case, I think it's an issue of his knees coming inward from an outward position to a neutral position (which is fine), not a neutral position to inward position.

The latter case can lead to knee problems and suggests your VMO (inner quad group by the knee) is underdeveloped.

  • beautifull lifting! and strong!

  • Sweet Jesus in a side car with a ham sandwich that guy is strong.

  • How much does he weigh?

  • @Sooftah 85kg bracket

  • gr8 ...ur front suat must be 220*3....very strong ..world class

  • Your a monster! Watched a bunch of your other videos. SUch great lifts!

  • Where did this ATG hurts the knees bs start from?? cmon its such a natural movement....weightlifters tend to have the healthiest knees.....a little tendonitis here and there of course but thats because of the training load which all athletes exerperience...

  • Ass to grass! The only way to go! Good lift!

  • SO WEAK!!!!

  • great squatting! you are a powerful man. good luck in your lifting future.

  • @canitasteyou321 Of Course deep squats are bad if you aren´t trained for it, - every exercise is. But why should they be bad in generall? Because they put strain and pressure to your body? Well, thats the point of good exercise. I squat deep for more than 10 years now, since i was 13 and never felt knee pain in my life. Its a natural movement for me and i can´t comprehend why everybody makes such a big argument about it. Call me dumb, but i believe your body knows himself pretty good.

  • @HX123P Exactly my brutha! Victims of poor technique are the ones who make deep squats seem dangerous! We are genetically built to squat! Chairs aren't part of our genetic makeup, Thats how humans are built to sit. Look at babys for example, they get it right more often than any adult trying to load weight with novice technique

  • @canitasteyou321: so you're an expert huh?! Lol change your screen name

  • @thaMFboi

i have degree in kinesiology specializing in sports therapy. i know the squat better than you know your momma's tits.

  • bad technique. if u go too low its bad for ur knees and ur knees shouldnt go over ur toes as well

  • @canitasteyou321

    you fail at squatting

  • @canitasteyou321

Ever heard of an ATG squat?? I see not...

  • @raoskaos

atg squats are terrible for the knees. of course ive heard of them. the patients complaining of knee troubles because they want to mimic powerlifters and hurt themselves doing poor exercises.

  • @canitasteyou321

Then all oly lifters are idiots for doing them. And where have you read that ATG squats are bad for the knees?!?!?!

  • @raoskaos

standard kinesiology textbooks used by universities, instructors who actually have master's degrees and know what theyre talking about rather than lifting elitists who think theyre something just because they squat a certain depth.

  • @canitasteyou321 Those instructors with master's degreees doesn't have any credentials whatsoever. Elite lifters who has been squating for over 20 years have them. Ass to grass is the only way to go.

  • @canitasteyou321 hip crease just below the knees thats a full squat and its a 100% healthy movement!

  • @canitasteyou321 powerlifters don't go ATG. Why are you talking about powerlifters on an oly lifting video anyway?

  • @canitasteyou321 actually the half squat BS that ppl love to show off so much worse than going low, also wen u go lower u get a better work out from it

  • @canitasteyou321 His knees actually don't go over his toes, it just looks like that from the angle. ATG squats, when done properly, are perfectly safe on the knees. Anyone you have trying to mimic a powerlifter was 1) not doing an ATG squat since powerlifters don't go ATG, and 2) probably doing it wrong or had knee issues before the squats.

Trying to stop a force in motion (i.e. at parallel) is more difficult/strenuous than weighting until it hits the bottom (ATG). It's physics.

  • @EndlersaurusRex And by more difficult, I mean on the knees, not in terms of weight moved.

  • Wow no spotters and no belt. Courageous. I did 500 lbs once (well... more like 50 lbs 10 times)

  • Wow!! Fuckin impressive!! How much is he weighing?

  • super impressive!

  • FUCKING BEAST!!!

  • Very impressive!

  • the crazy thing is you just squated 270x3 today! keep up the hardwork bro!

  • @surfnaked87 Someone has to have the video somewhere....!!

  • Awesome squats, that is amazing strength!

  • This guy is the best thing that's happened to the US weightlifting team in a long time. He's just a short time away from hitting a WR CJ at 85. Those that badmouth Kendrick are just too busy searching out videos on youtube to bash so they feel like their dick is bigger. Kendrick, I was at the Arnold's doing a wrestling demo this year and I saw your 205 CJ attempt. That lift would be destroyed today as you should have the confidence of cleaning and just missing a 218 jerk. Strong times ahead!

  • dude that is awesome lifting....i wish i could even get upto half of what you squat for my personal best after a year of training

    dammm....BEAST

  • just did this weight for 5 reps the other day

  • @thaMFboi awesome!!!

  • @tdheoembaesl well there is more than one type of squat...i felt the need to specify, but when you post a video you can call it what you like though

  • @thaMFboi why would you respond to these ignorant morons who's head would literally explode if they began to understand... Keep up the good work Kendrick! No limits!

  • @thaMFboi Low bar or high bar?

  • @tooloocrew Low bar or high? Idk what you're talking about

  • @thaMFboi Dude soooo fake, you're obviously a forklift in disguise. Who are you trying to play?!

  • @thaMFboi Low bar rests lower on your back, high bar rests higher on your back...

  • @tooloocrew Most Olympic Weightlifters do high bar squats with the body positioned much more vertically and to full depth.

  • @tooloocrew high bar :)

  • @tooloocrew

High bar, you can tell from the video.

The bar is above his shoulders, resting on his traps.

If it was low bar then the tops of his shoulders would be higher than the bar.

  • for how long have you been practicing Oly lifting?

  • @chadcite how much do you squat?

  • @thaMFboi 160kg x 2

  • @chadcite ok...hey do me a favor and post some videos of you squatting so i can see how its done, Thanks bro

  • His back squat form is a bit ugly for an olympic lifter but it only makes it more impressive since its 255kg

  • @chadcite how was it ugly? Becuase his knees went in a little? That happens on max attempts a bit. He handled the weight well repped it out and solid atg.

  • @desembodic he didn't keep his hips under him, take a look at some of these other international lifters...very tight technique. Not taking anything from his strength, hes an incredible athlete who I am a fan of, just saying I think his squat could look better.

  • @chadcite he not wearing a belt so harder to stay very tight, The weight very heavy for him obviously so its not going to look perfect. He could look better doing less weight but this is max weights.

  • Great squats! Oh, and congrats on the Arnold 201 c+j. You're close to the world record, man. It's within reach! Keep on keepin' on ...

  • Almost as impressive as Chakarov's squats.

  • Holy shit, I am impressed

  • brilliant!!

  • im pretty sure he knows what hes doing considering hes an olympian....

  • @canelifter111 yea but if anyone else tried doing these the way he did, there goes your knee or lower back, you cant do squats like this over night. he has to go that low because the power cleans require that

  • @paulanka2000 lol the power cleans require him to go that low. powers are above parallel for ur information. i know why hes doing them and i know hes doing them fine. just stop hating on him lol.

  • @canelifter111 no i mean as apposed to dong the snatch, the other olympic lift where they bring the weight all the way donig , bring it up to shoulders then power clean it up. so he has to train is body that way to do that lift. I am not hating but it is obvious if your average guy tried this he will be serious trouble

  • Bro, this guy went to the OLYMPICS. Once you go to the Olympics, then by all means, tell Kendrick Farris to squat differently.

  • @BigMuscleMilk Too bad no medals. The Chinese took them all. Poor brack guy.

  • @ke422azn troll that was his first olympics. He putting up world record lifts in training now and will destroy everyone in 2 years.

  • @desembodic I doubt it, just go look at his stats from TeamUSA website.

Best snatch to date is 160KG and best C&J is 203KG. His best competition total 362KG from May 28, 2010. Still got a long way to go from olympic gold.

  • @ChinaNite89 he has recent video of him barley missing 218kg clean and jerk which is near best in the world, snatch sure has gone up a lot also. World record only 393 and with 218 clean jerk he only need like 175 snatch to tie that.

  • @desembodic Competition and Training weights are totally two different things:1. Your training weight are normally higher than the weight class you compete in. 2. There are no constraints and pressures during training. 3. His 362KG were from MAY 28 THIS YEAR which is only 3 MONTHS ago. If he lifts around 218KG now then how come he lifted only 203KG in Pan Ams.4. It's common for lifters to break world records in training but it is what you lift in an IWF recognized competition that counts.

  • @ChinaNite89 thats true but he might not have been trying to peak for pan ams-not a big competetion- and training hard through it to peak at worlds-many lifters do similar- Its true training lifts generally higher but it shows what he IS capable of. He is improving a lot and we shall see what he looks like during world championships.

  • @BigMuscleMilk Also, Farris is mimicking his olympic lifts. This looks like his jerk squat and his snatch. Which makes it not only correct form, but the ideal form for his sport.

    PS: don't feed that troll

  • Jorgen- ur really gonna come on here and try to correct the form of an olympian?!?!? keep doin work Kenny.

  • Insane!

  • Great lifting!

  • @tmutafs but without spotters ....3rd rep was scary

  • great job Kendrick, super strong!
