beautiful. this game is a masterpiece and so is this video and this song. i shed a couple tears throughout this video. why can't all games these days be like the mother/EarthBound series. all the games today are about killing people and shooting things and thats what all my friends play. whatever happened to the times when a games story and music mattered more than killing things?

Because Earthbound was of such a high quality, there's little that could ever come near it.

And to think it started as little more than a parody of Dragon Quest.

That's beside the point. Point is, Earthbound holds a special place in my heart.

This song...This video...So good... It's games like these that are truly great. For apparent reasons, most good games were made before 2000. Back then, designers didn't have good graphics and sound to cover up the actual gameplay, unlike today. Back then, they HAD to actally put effort into what they release. This game wasn't the violence and pointlessness of today's Cod. This series actually taght a lesson. Heck, Mother 3 made me cry! you don't cry in Cod.

The pictures at the end make me think that Ness received them through remembering his mother's love. He is a psychic, and probably felt a lot of relations. I did not grow up with this game, however, EarthBound was a true nostalgia attack even without it being a contributor to my childhood. I know there are many opinions on this game ranging from obsessive to absolute hatred, however, I just saw EarthBound as nostalgia in a cartridge.
