  • lmfao I didn't realize how racist this one is....but it's f*^kin funny as hell

  • OMG dude! 5:26 - 5:44. That's the first time I've EVER seen that! And I watched this cartoon since I was young, with everything that the edited version now has removed. And I have NEVER seen that! That's so crazy! And so funny!

  • Thanks for posting this gem!

I must point out that it's NOT racist, since back then using stereotypes for humor or entertainment was fine. Avery wasn't consciously setting out to insult blacks.

It's like stand-up comedians who make "men vs women" jokes. 20 years form now will their videos be censored because it's "Sexist"?

  • poor guy.it wasnt his fault 5;26-5:44

  • LOL 2:54

  • ♥ .

  • Dogs got a gold tooth. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • In the context of the era this was made, I would consider this very mild/light racist.

  • @RockyBalboa211 Light? That is an understatement, even though I could care less about racism.

  • @shadomasterv7 True, it could be seen that way but it depends how you look at it. If you take it with the right spirit and ignore the potential historical racism of the era it's feckin hilarious! I personally laugh my arse off at it and I'm someone who as a Scot thinks Groundskeeper Willy in "The Simpsons" and Fat Bastard from the Austin Powers movies are a hoot! Some people I think need to learn to laugh at themselves and not be so sensitive about comedic stereotypes.

  • @segrad you're right what he originally said was 55,70,95,120,& the rest crumbs! somewhat racist but funny you got to admit.

  • 5:27-5:44 was quite wrong but it is a classic and very funny imo.

  • LOVE IT!!

  • Man,,I can't help it,,it may be racist, offensive and any other adjective you want to use,but damn,,man it's funny as hell. Quick test to all the TRUE Droopy fans,do you guys remember the ORIGINAL lines of the sambo part? He doesn't say that 9 billion trillion line( even though that is extremely funny) he starts counting but at the end of counting he says "take all of it" still using the same sambo voice! I wish I could find that version as well!

  • @2000rubs Yeah, since it sounded pretty racist, which was a bad move in my opinion. There are a lot of cartoons back then that also had Chinese stereotypes in them, possibly because of the wars we were involved in. But that's comedy, to pick on our differences. If you eliminated every stereotype out of comedy there would be nothing to laugh at. There would be no Italians, blacks, Asians, Hispanics, white folks, no references to religion, politics, nothing--you would have a blank piece of film.

  • @AlanSessler : Pretty much. If you think about it a large percentage of what makes cartoons of this era funny are stereotypes and poking fun at people. Strangely enough, I find these cartoons LESS offensive than South Park or Family Guy. Maybe because they poked fun at everybody instead of singling out certain groups and constantly ragging on them even when it has nothing to do with the story.

  • droopy is really strange, he is like a teleporting slow dog. Plus how was the other dog able to get on a $1000 plane after it shows that he was poor and was sitting on a train as if he snuck inside.

  • 5:35- WOW...

  • You know, I don't get while they're racist. Oddly enough, I find a silly.

  • haha... never saw the unedited version before

  • It would have been great if they had drawn Dwight D Eisenhower..

  • HEY BLACKY ANY MORE BABES IN THERE LOL ;D

  • Never saw 5:04 to 5:45 before. And now I know why.

  • Браво, човек, благодаря за филмчетата. Рядко могат да се намерят с добро качество (y) Няма какво да коментирам колко са добри (y)

  • Never mind how racist 5:26-5:44 is deemed to be. I am more interested in how guys like Thunderf00t would debunk someone who thinks that a bomb can actually do this.

  • Humour, that's what it was about, plus the freedom allowing people to think, talk and breathe!

  • lighting cant strike twice in the same place (the big dog did then he got shocked by the lighting) 2:09

  • @DaAznThug -- Maybe Droopy conveniently had his thumb over the part that said "It's a myth that..."

And yes, can that "racist" talk. In my experience no one is more racist than a liberal. They put everyone on an almighty List and decide which groups are better than anothers. That is the dictionary definition of racism. If you're black and you insult a gay person, preare to watch your rights disappear. Just ask Isaiah Washington. Avery was a product of his culture and era, just as I am.

  • Gotta love the black homour!!!

  • so sweet..the childhood memories:)

  • love the directional explosions

  • Well, it is racist, but we can also understand the era in context and view it with that in mind. There were many without those gags that I find very funny. These guys also seemed to have a thing for crossdressing, too... :p

  • thats how obama is wasting our money

  • @408man53 No wonder people have problems with it. Asshole comments like yours mmake the problem worse. You must work for Fox News.

  • @Ramonesaehs haha YES!!! love this comment!! you know Fox said that Mr. Rogers was evil?? -_- really now

  • 5:37 OBAMA!

  • @GirRlues022495 i like the cartoon for what it was back then. Racist comments like yours make it more difficult to just appreciate it. You must be a white trash Tea Bagger.

  • @Ramonesaehs acctually i wanted obama to win the election, nd im not white trash. ive never dated one of my relatives

  • @GirRlues022495 LOL !!!!

  • Go ask an old black person if they're racist. They'd know. I really don't care if the cartoons are racist or not.

  • People bitch about cartoons for no damn reason its a cartoon made in 1951 it was a different time and yes it was racist but get over it don't sit there and complain about a joke made 59 years ago. There is the reason its no longer running on tv is people complaining so shut up and laugh and if your offended DON'T WATCH THE CARTOON!!!! You want to bitch, start with something in your own era, how about the oil spill or the 100s of starving people in your own city. OPEN YOUR MIND PEOPLE!

  • lol i ove the dog that always tryna get over on droopy

  • what is racist in this cartoon?

  • @grosiradu 3:48 Droopy's comment to Spike in blackface

5:37 When Spike and the man are left in blackface after an explosion

  • Hey blacky any more babes in there jajajajajajajaj that so funny mostly cuz its droopy lol althought the part with the bomb was as funny cuz its the dog jajaja

  • Amazing. An uncut version! I also have this on 15 yearold VHS.

...Nine trillion billion and two bits! lol! :)

  • I laugh so hard at the scene when Spike went into that burning house & the scene where the english guy & Spike exploded.

  • Who cares what they think

  • I dunno, South Park and the Simpsons are racist in a satirical sense that sort of makes fun of racism. To all who denny there's racism in here, there's no getting around it, really. But, you can still get a good laugh in that "this is so uncomfortably wrong..." sort of way.

  • he meant blackie as in he was burnt.

  • Everybody on here that is saying its ok can go to hell this is very racist bc how come wen he blew up he didnt turn into a hillbillie bc the guy is white..explain that?? i love cartoons exspecially older one but i hate to see things like this bc it is not funny bc of the situation in was done in. if the guy was black and blew into that character it would be different but u will not see a normal looking black person there bc he only saw black people how he showed in the cartoon..

  • @countryboi1221 There is racism in every race of people and that is a fact that really can't be argued. I see it every day.

  • DONT CROSS THE STREAMS !!!!

  • what is wrong with a sight gag that shows a dog turning into a parody of a specific black character? I see no difference when they portray silly hillbillies, little feeble old white ladies, the rich white stuffy pompous bastards. Lighten up and laugh at all our funny traits. C'mon, don't fall into the hate game.

  • 5:33 - best moment!

  • 55, 70, 95, 120, 72, 9 billion trillion, and two bits.

  • 5:26 - 5:44, that's so wrong, but you can't help but laugh at it, even when you think about it at the weirdest times.

  • @RexBlazer1 - I know what ya mean! Heck I am a black guy and that IS freaking funny! People just gotta lighten up just a tad bit!

  • Tex Avery,William Hanna and Joseph Barbera changed the world with these fantastic cartoons...I Miss the good old days.....R.I.P CN

  • @NBAfan91 I agree with you 10,000%. Cartoon Network had so much with these kinds of cartoons from my childhood, probably. Then, they messed it up with other cartoons that don't have this kind of laughter. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU, CARTOON NETWORK!?

  • good question ...

  • Brilliant...just brilliant..:) I remember watching this show on CN back in the good old days.Good memories:D

  • "9 billion trillion and two bits" LMAO! I love it. Tex Avery was one of the best there ever was. This short is a riot along with "Droopy's Double Trouble" and "Homesteader Droopy"

  • @danstives You are too young to know, but we didn't live life worrying about whose feelings were hurt. Every culture was fair game. The object was to have a sense of humor. Be honest, everyone is racist by todays standards. Who really cares? Look what you guys did to the Irish.

  • thank u

  • OMFG that "hey blackie" part killed me!!

Does anyone know the piece Droopy was playing on the piano at the end? Maybe it was created for the episode but if anyone knows I'd like to find out. :) It's so pretty!

  • These gag cartoons were the best. I remember seeing an edited version of this on Cartoon Network where they took out "Hey blacky, any more babes in there?" To be honest I was offended that they took it out. I'm sorry there was a lot of racism back then, but I think cartoons like these serve as reminders of our troubled past (don't edit the past!). Still, there's a big difference between cultural stereotypes, just as much in use today in comedy, and racism. And this is still funny!

  • I'm fat and white and stupid and I think Peter Griffin is hysterical.

  • fuck the racism in this shit......just kidding....i love you tex avery!!! long live tex & droopy!!

  • "55, 70, 95, 120, 72, 9 billion-trillion, an' two bits!" It's so bad, but I can't help but laugh!

  • yeah that one had me rollin XD

  • Me too. I can watch it all day, and I can never stop laughing at it.

    I'm sorry, I know it's bad, but it's just funny. X3

  • im mexican and speedy gonzalez is hella funny to me!!!!

I think these classic toons are the funniest and the BEST!!! and can never be duplicated in terms of sound, character ,and its just plain funny. How can droopy offend anybody? Tex avery was the ultimate funny bunny.

  • Wow. That is some good old-timey racism right there.

  • i know i couldnt believe it. well i could but i was still shocked

  • Yeah, this is a racist cartoon, but if you have a spine and grow the hell up, it's entertaining and you'll see it for what it is. Satire. I'm black and these toons don't offend me at all.

It's no different than Family Guy or South Park. Two very racial and satirical shows.

  • Comment removed

  • Droopy always has an uncanny ability to catch up with his antagonists.

  • 4:33 genius hehehe

  • i remeber this cartoon..they cut out the scene. i didnt think of it being racist as a kid..just that it was funny

  • u cant beat this

  • Hey Blacky!!! Any more babes in there???LMAO!!!

  • Yeah, STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT OUR CARTOONS AND GET SOME SKIN ON YOUR WEAK LITTLE ASSES.

  • O_O!! 5:36 I don't remember THAT PART!! They probably deleted it, since it's racism!

  • Yeah, I've never seen that part before, either. White folks are always trying to make fun of other races. Envy is something else, ain't it?

  • I miss the good ole days of Politically Incorrect cartoons. I'll take this any day over Sponge Bob! LOL

  • who is the name of the dog? I mean the enemy of droopy.

  • Spike or Butch.

The same dog was in some solos such as Cock-A-Doodle-Dog.

  • As a adult of 38, should I be watching these ?. So funny thou. The part where the rich guy gets blown up as well. My goodness LOL

  • it's perfectly normal lol. It's just like South Park except no swearing

  • The rich guy bit was too much and by that I mean tooooo funny!

  • 3:47 hey blackie any more babes in there, classic shit. and also 5:35 no nat racist at all...

  • But they never showed it on tv this was my first time in 16 years I ever saw that scene

  • mybe they only censored that shit in the states, im in canada and have seen that scene many times...

  • Actually it was back when I was in Nigeria most of the cartoon was broadcasted through the UK.

  • funny stuff xD

  • i get so sick of hearing how supposedly racist these classic cartoons were!!!! Family Guy,South Park even some episodes of The Simpsons and Beavis and Butt-Head were more racist than these cartoons ever where!!!!!

  • I agree Family Guy,South Park.... are way more racist than droopy. btw if any of u want any more old droopy cartoons tell me

  • I think people nowdays take things way to seriously!!!! These old cartoons made fun of my heritage also but its satire and people don't get that!!!!

  • @SineddFanBG more please

  • @SineddFanBG we want more! :D

  • they stop makeing Beavis and Butt-Head because parents complained but now they make King of the Hill that one was stupid.. Family Guy is funny but yeah racist.. The Simpsons is the same South Park turned like Beavis and Butt Head i hate those two shows..

  • As far as I'm concerned people need to get a life and stop complaining about cartoons!!!! If you're a parent it's your job and no one else's to teach your children the difference between what's real and what's fiction!!!!! of course all this started with the politically correct garbage!!!!!!

  • Where did you find this version? The version I always see either leaves in the part where Droopy says, "Hey, blackie, any more babes in there" after the cabin burns up with Spike in it or doesn't have the "Hey blackie" line in there at all. I've never seen the aftermath of the explosion after the rich white man rewards Spike.

You, sir (or ma'am or even miss) are awesome for doing this.

  • 59, 70, 95, 120, 72, 9 billion trillion, and 2bills

  • no he doesnt say 2 bills he says 2 bits

  • i just t-baged an ice burg

  • ???

  • "Hey blackie, any babes left?"

  • Plus the African look when the bomb explodes in the guy's hand when the old man is paying the tips.

  • Unfortunately, these cartoons were made during that time...

  • Well, at least times have progressed since then. Well, its all evolution.

  • Nicely put. Plus, I guess for the most part, the cartoonists weren't trying to be racist anyway.

  • funny shit
