  • @fab0999 Circle of life, learn about it

  • @ronald010ify Food chain much?

  • Its 10 times stronger than kevlar.

  • Because Cracked doesn't have the video for this.

  • @shrumpish u genius haha

  • Wow. Cool :)

  • @fab0999 loads of animals depend on eating spiders and getting eaten by spiders. You remove one whole species of animals and you get a big problem!

  • KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!

  • wtf!

  • The fibers are stronger than kevlar when made as a garnment...not the web alone

  • Holy mother of zombie bananas!

  • is there a bird?

  • This spider just made the top 10 list of species discoveries 2011 :)

  • Beautiful ! Its like the spider is floating away to glory !

  • im here because of wired lol

  • I have wread on wiki that this web material is supossedly stronger than kevlar, is this true. Where can I get a good acurate science book on subjects such as strength of spiders webs and Astronomy?

  • @meatisdeliciouse They think it is 10X stronger than kevlar and 2x stronger than other spiders web material :)

  • @TheJambomen Thats amasing.

  • @meatisdeliciouse "strength of spiders webs and astronomy" QFLuLz

  • @meatisdeliciouse the library

  • @jarodjenkins LMAO...smartass :) True, though!

  • @meatisdeliciouse I read the same thing...not sure where to find a good book on the subject, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to locate one. The Darwin's Bark Spider is supposed to have the absolute strongest web silk of any spider (they all have pretty strong silk to begin with!)

  • @meatisdeliciouse any decent spiderw book will telll you that spiders web is strongger than most steel. not sure about kevlar thow

  • @meatisdeliciouse catch one and see for your self . if you cant, well move on my son dont go showing your agenda to the public now

  • @meatisdeliciouse It's absolutely true, though it's too thin to be as effective as a kevlar vest.

HOWEVER, they actually are learning ways to harvest this silk for this purposes. From goats, not shitting you.

  • @Yaesumuji It's not fookin' true it is TOUGHER than kevlar not STRONGER.

TOUGHNESS is a combination of STRENGTH and ELASTICITY of course there are stronger materials than spider's silk. TOUGHNESS is something we look for in materials when producing something that needs to absorb high levels of force and impact i.e bullet proof vests and ropes.

Although it is strong, spider silk is know for it's "toughness" not it's strength alone. Kevlar is stronger

  • @meatisdeliciouse Where can you get a good accurate science book on subjects such as strength of spider's web and... Astronomy?

Why do you sound like you hatched out of an egg yesterday?

I doubt you will find a whole science book the subject "strength of spider's webs" especially when it's acclaimed for it's toughness not strength which is a combination of strength and elasticity. It is tougher than kevlar but not stronger.

Astronomy has nothing to do with spiders lol

  • nice video do you think maybe this could have sound
