  • beautiful people

  • I'm pretty mainstream but something calls me to this....

  • C'est je pense la réaction inverse du trop moderne...

  • C'est je pense la réaction inverse du trop moderne...

  • tsk tsk tsk....

  • i was there, i was 4 y.o. it was not my neither my first, nor my last. WE LOVE YOU

  • my momma was there!!!!! this is what the world should be... small communities all over, living together in peace and understanding, growing our own food, living nude, loving nature and existence. It will soon be this way and even better. Humanity is shifting, and my heart glows with love and happiness envisioning this new phase coming soon:)

May unconditional love, understanding, happiness, unity and truth prevail.

    In Peace,

    Sélène:)

  • ...what the hell was that white light that flew past twice at around 1:30

  • ☮ Love How The Dog Just walks in an Lays Right Down in the Middle of the Circle ☮

  • got a question and a word. agriculture. why are we going out of our way to get this paper to trade for food. why not gather or grow our own food. why not create or discover inventions or treasures or arts for food.

  • This is '78??? Wow, kinda fooled me, I was 18 then....guess hippies are timeless, this looks just like moedown 2 years ago!

  • Tear drop to my eyes... my heart is there. KICKAPOO 2012 CLOVIS!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is so beautiful, i wish i had the chance to go to the rainbow gathering this year

  • very bkn because ¿you know?

  • Did I see blue trails coming off that frisbee at 5:15? :-)

  • that one girl talking is on so much drugs

  • Well, you're the best. Please come to Maui and play for us!!!

  • I'm in this video .25 standing next to the brother in yellow shorts in the bottom right hand corner what a great time made me whom I am today...

  • You shouldn't bit your nails. :>)

  • Far out I was there too..hitched out from New Jersey..

spent two months there at least and it chnaged my life for the better..I moved to Oregon after that and lived there for 14 years!

  • they could dance around a thin tree instead of a pole

  • I'm not saying there wasn't any (any group has it's bad elements but considering how many people were at the past gatherings, before the police got involved, for a month at a time the crime rate was extremely low compared to any other group or gathering of people I know of) but it was very seldom & when it did happen the peace keepers dealt with it peacefully. Thank you for the video. It brought back memories of a happy fun time in my life & I got to see people I haven't seen in over 30 years.

  • And gatherings back then had none of the violence they do now. Violence was never an issue until the forestry department & police came on the scene. The police are the cause of the violence the last few gatherings. Until they got involved the violence was almost non existent.

  • It was an experience I will never forget. It was great. And the jerk that posted the comment about naked adults & kids is an ignoramus. My younger sister & brother were at the peace camp with me & no one ever messed with us. If anything they were over protected. One of the nicest mellowest people I have ever met was at the peace camp & gathering. He was an older black guy named Spirit. I ran into Spirit off & on for years & he was a mellow person & smart as a whip. Wonder if he's still around?

  • @imwillowalso i agree ive only been to one rainbow but i see how its would be hard to abuse a child with so many watchful adults ... nobody there would let that happen. even if theres one sicko theres thousands of good friendly normal people that would stop it... in fact i think people there are more likely to get involved in a situation there people are in the "real" world.

  • I was 13 & lived in the Rainbow peace camp outside of Ashland Oregon right after this gathering. The blonde guy talking at first is John Paul & the first girl talking is Star. I hitchhiked to California with both to meet the Rainbow bus that was traveling back up to Oregon so we could move everyone to the Gila National forest in Arizona.

  • little kids and naked grown adult hippis running around in the woods I do see some trouble there!

  • 1;14 eaches???

  • cowboy hat - drugs are good mkay

  • "building shitters and then come dance for a while"

  • nevermind i skipped through and it suck fest

  • looks like way more fun than the gatherings we have today

  • This is fabulous! I don't talk so "earthy" and don't need to. It's not about conforming to a certain image or anything. I can enjoy all of these people because they are happy and loving. Helping others to help each other. This is what life is about. Not cars and other material distractions. Would love to be part of this with my little family.

  • All things are beautiful, even these stupid, stupid people.

    Namaste you dullards!

  • OOOOOOOOOOHHHHMMMMMMMM is the dial tone of the universe!!!It was amazing how much food and other things were provided for all!!The guy saying "107" is someone I met at the latrine ditches....co-ed.....yeah!!! What a way to meet someone!!! Hahahaha!!!

  • omg those hippy girls are so friggin hot.

  • Would these people have survived Stalin?

  • Doubt it- I heard he was real 'Party' pooper.

  • Henry the fiddler in the last :30 of this video makes it worth watching...errr skipping to the last :30. ;-)

  • agreed.

  • you have to live it to understand what is about , if more people believe in UNITY , in the concept that we, all of us ,are part of the same kind , and we are part of the same live and the same earth! , maybe things will be different those days... its just posible and beatifull

    love brothers and sisters!

  • Please try to look beyond the haze that surrounds people who may be taking uh herbal refreshment or uh uhm acid... Try to see the real desire for change and wakefulness and compassionate living that these people represent!

    Thanks

    namaste

  • Alot of what you see is not about that, it was just about the energy of the gathering and the time. drug use was really not encouraged at the early gatherings, even smoking pot. The vibe was so intense, there was hardly the need.

  • What the hell are these clowns talking about.

  • Best way to understand it is to check out the website, or read the history of the rainbow family and the gatherings. It was a different time, you gotta listen with your heart if you really want to hear.

  • i yet have been able to visit one of these gatherings but i am going to the one this year in missouri and look forward to it and i believe in myself that i am prepared to come back even more changed than i usually am after a festival

Peace & Love my brothers & sisters

  • Darcey, Michelle, Mona, love you all and your Dads and your kids, I was at the Gathering with you. Very special time, in fact this is all very nostalgic for me. Stay beautiful sisters...peace and love

  • The love i felt being in circles with people, envisioning that love was a possible thing, and really the only thing that matters, has been a guiding vision for all that i do. It is very nostalgic for me too, hard to even explain to anyone. Thank you for your posting mark. Love to you brother. : )

  • I was born at the gathering of 1978 Oregon, Umqua National Forest.

  • I was at this gathering pregnant with my daughter. Ended up being an organic farmer for many years and now a social worker. I will never forget the love I felt at the gatherings and the feeling of being in circles holding hands with hundreds of people. Thanks for posting this!

  • I saw myself in the first one, also 17, really funny to walk back 30 years. But I'm still part of the Rainbow Family and will always be, and hope you young and old folks will see and know they can contact us, and get involved in these gatherings --they still happen every year, and are bigger and sweeter at times, and at other times, not. But feel the love. It's still here.

  • HAHA, I was a snot nosed 17 year old when I attended this gathering. I just spotted myself sitting next to my boyfriend. WOW, like a time machine. My father went to all the gatherings and talked me into going to this one. His name was Eagle and he lived in Kona Hawaii. His van or bug always said "yeah God" on the back. I wish he was alive today to see this video. I sure miss my ole hippy dad.

  • I knew your Dad, Eagle, from the gatherings. Think I spent some time in an orchard in Washington State with him for awhile too. Very cool guy. Michele

  • Hi Michele,

I was wondering if anyone would remember him. I remember him talking about apple picking in Washington state so I guess thats where you met him. Dad would sure flip out to find his friends shmoozing on the internet.

Thanks for the note and Namaste,

    Mona

  • again, i'm watchin along, loving this look back, and then oh, my brother red leaf.......... aho... to lay eyes on this loved friend again, to hear his dear voice! words can't express what is in this old hippie's heart right this moment

    again thank you for this

  • wow!!! Hippies in the late 70's??? They were a little outdated. New wave was About to make them look like a bunch of Silly homeless ppl!!

  • Actually, humanity is not outdated at all. If you ever bother to go to a rainbow gathering, you will meet many beautiful and inspired individuals. Give it a shot, new wave is out. lol. I guess you'd be shocked to know there are still rainbow gatherings. This year's national is next week, see you there!

  • This may surprise, you, but this 'hippie" thing was slightly more than a fashion statement...
