Ignore people who say dont buy wranglers. They are somewhat piece of shits, but that just jeep being jeep. Just expect to pour money into upgrades and repairs if you use it correctly, i.e. beat on it like it stole something.
love my JKU sahara, anyone read the January edition of JP Magazine yet? read the new editors column, he says everything perfectly about jeep owners. in a nut shell , he talks about how people use jeeps as everyday cars and expect sooooo much of them to be perfect, and how they dont drive like my wifes car blah blah blah, it rides rough, its slow, its this, its that. come on people, if you dont like it, buy an explorer or a tahoe. yea, mine squeaks and rattles, its a jeep!!! its what i payed for
i miss my jeep im so getting another one asap xD had an 07 jk went up on evans creek in washington almost stock all i had was alil bigger tires on it my buds jeeps couldnt keep up xD with 2 and 4 inch lifts both sitting on 33's xD had to tow em up the 520 trail in the rain till my u-joint broke ALWAYS REMEMBER PARTS PEEPS xD
My 99 tj was as good as they came. I loved it. I loved winter just to be able to play in deep snow. After 484k, the electronics gave out, and rust did the rest. Engine rated tops on e tests, but I had to give it up. Needed a reliable vehicle to get to work and back. 160 clicks per working day. Damn thing took notions as to starting or not, and which chipped key would work. Dealers and computers were no help. I still mourn that little bugger.
say hello to major rust, Trust me I know. These jeeps are pure crap and the drive shaft is rusted so bad it is blown orange dust all over the underside. Total lemons!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY FRIEND. 06 or older..THEY CUT CORNERS NOW AND HAVE AND AM HAVING MAJOR ISSUES WITH MINE. 4 years into owning and I see a hair crack on my transfer case. Came from the factory that way from what I can tell. The tranz case is aluminum and should be steal. The rims are made in CHINA! bumpers CANADA, NOT TRUE AMERICAN!
@2012goingNutz yea my buddy bought an 2008 and hes looking to get rid of it for a stock 06 to build, his 08 is currently out of order due to a "pot hole"!!
@tylerocks13 You're totally right! They made the 2wd wrangler from around 07-10. This is definitely not a two wheel drive. The way the snow flies back from the front shows that the car is in 4wd
@MegaJackbest Actually, no. Jeep Wrangler used to come in 4 X 2, from what i remember it was the 4 door model. At least in 2007 when i bought mine new. But whats the point if its not 4 x 4? That's why you buy a Jeep, to go places other vehicles cannot.
How does your wrangler unlimited do in snow. I live in northern Arizona, and I need a 4 wheel drive car to get to high school. I will also use it during the summer up at my lakehome in northern Wisconsin to drive around in the woods with my friends and during the winter to go ice fishing and drive around out on the lake. DaDudez.. I have an 09 Wrangler Sahara.. I live in Upstate NY, and utilize my Jeep in both extreme Winter driving, and enjoy going well off the beaten path in the Spring/Summer/Fall months as well. No problems at all driving in 16" + snow/drifts, great 4x4 handling and traction when on snowy roads as well. Simply put with the right tires (i run BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A) this vehicle will go just about anywhere you point the nose and step on the gas. Just need to watch steep hills/banks
@tuk2332 part of the fun is driving around exploring, get yourself a good quality topo map of NY that shows limited use roads, and also check out the jeep jamboree website- they do organized trail rides all over NY... where you can interact and meet other jeep owners. Hope that gets you started anyway.... (most of what i know is more downstate and not in your area).
I'm considering buying a Wrangler Unlimited to replace my old Subaru as my winter vehicle. I've heard mixed things about the old Wranglers in snow/ice, so I'm curious how you feel about the Unlimited. Any tips or suggestions?

Hello, I have a question!
How does your wrangler unlimited do in snow. I live in northern Arizona, and I need a 4 wheel drive car to get to high school. I will also use it during the summer up at my lakehome in northern Wisconsin to drive around in the woods with my friends and during the winter to go ice fishing and drive around out on the lake.
