  • This vid pretty much proves that Arnold had GREAT GENETICS! Even with the limited training methods, nutrition, supplements, etc. that existed at the time, he still created a phenomenal physique! He was truly the last of the "hard men" of the sport.

  • wow im 18... he puts me to shame...

  • so thats really what it comes down to people, the more you want something, the harder you will work for it, the same applies in a fight, the more you want to survive and win, the better chance you have, where as if you dont have that inner will to fight and win, you'll most likely lose the fight, you could get a top martial artist who wants to show off his skills, but then some tramp, but the tramp wants to win so badly more than the MA, its like you gotta be hungry more than the other man

  • i'm 22 now and i can't believe it.

i feel cheated, i can't get back those 4 years of my life i let go to waste, doing nothing. but i can try like hell to make up for it. Rome wasn't built in a day, Arnold built himself up over as many years. i'll be 23 soon.

  • schwarzenegger; eine klasse für sich

  • fml

  • So know we know what the secret for best biceps ever - CRAZY CHEATED BARBELL CURLS!!!

  • person who make a muscle just like him can't addict to alcohol

  • Already a perfect symmetry. Who said Arnold was on steroids ?

  • @GodLivingGuy he did

  • Holy fuck! Go Arnold!!!!! Terminator!

  • i magjishem

  • pretty epic video

  • I mean add a ton of weight to the bar...stupid spell check....and the whole blood and strechy thing jessababy4you was talking about, that didn't make sense but I do know it's completley unhealthy to do this workout but it works really well.

  • Believe it or not jessababy4you is a little correct it is a cheat curl which of course Arnold invented, you loose a ton of weight on to the bar and curl it, and of course it's dangerous but Arnold said that's the risk you take and you just make alot of sacrifices in bodybuilding. I've tried it with 135 for 5 reps, when you get it half way try and use your muscles, I am not bragging but just giving an example.

  • THIS IS SO EPIC WATCHING THIS AS IM THE SAME AGE ARNOLD WAS IN THIS

  • @splendora my thoughts exactly

  • He's form is pretty shitty because I believe it was a record he set in 67 or 68 in october or something - 127kg for 3 reps (280lbs, fuck yeah!). Most of people will not even squat that weight for 1 stupid rep...

  • @AlexTcfy Its called a cheat curl, the purpose of it is to overload your biceps with blood, So they strecth out. I can probably cheat curl 175 to 180, Cause i can do 165 for 3 reps. I am 15 years old with a 17 in a half inch arms. it basically to make your arms freakish. And I love it.

  • @jessababy4you Jeez, do you really think someone interested in that? Stop being arrogant, that makes you look and sound really funny.

  • @jessababy4you yes you fucktard troll you are 15 with 17 inch arms and curl 165. yes i totally belive in santa

  • @jessababy4you First of all, loading your biceps with blood does not make them stretch.. Getting a pump merely delivers more oxygen/nutrients to the muscle during exertion. Fascia stretching and/or stretching of the muscle pre, during & post workout is something entirely different again.

  • this video is so beautiful. I'm a great fan of Arnold and bodybuilding but even if you don't like that, it's a beautiful vid, thanks for posting!

  • Beautiful he looks like a true god

  • remember that cheating was the norm back in the 60s. anyway, cheating can be done properly and effectively if it is used to push mucle failure.

  • cheat curls and other cheat methods put slabs on muscle on fast but only if u warm up properly and they come near the end of ur last few sets. u gotta incorporate cheats properly if u wanna get huge, dense, and shapely.

  • Arnold's maximum regular poundages for training (1969 - 1975) for maximum muscle size.

    Source: Arnold's encyclopedia of bodybuilding

Bicep curls: 275 pounds (3 cheat reps. final set)

Bench press: 500 pounds (3 reps. final set)

    Squats: 500 pounds (4 - 5 reps. final set)

Calf raises: 1000 pounds (6 - 8 reps. final set)

Shoulder clean and press: 315 pounds ( 3 - 5 reps. final set).

Dead lifts: 730 pounds ( 1 rep. final set).

  • @SpeedKlz his calfs did look impresssive no doubt

  • epic music!

  • worst form ever hahaah

  • @stussyboys lol his form is pretty shitty in this video

  • wow could you imagine looking like that at 20 yrs old?

  • @natazer i will, trust me, im only 17, but i swear to god, add me on here and in 3 years ill show you my body!

  • Great video, thanks for uploading. The Exodus theme is actually by Ernest Gold.

  • Lol oh yes he had

  • man what a great video....

  • Nothing gay here boys.

  • How many 20 yr olds even today look like that, he raised the bar to a higher standard ( not talking about the curls) , I mean what one could achieve with the body

  • man... im 20 now lol... i wish i looked like him. Still if i start now with HARD work.. i reckon i could look like him there in about... 5 to 8 years... but thats a fuck load of time and hard work.... anyone can say what i just said but its actually doing it thats the hard part right? Still thats what made Arnie a champion, he always went and carried on going to the gym to pump iron, hes a great insperation to us all, a role model for me.

  • @Brady2k10 2 years ago, but well said.

  • @KataNight yes 2 years ago and fuck me i still havent started!! see what i mean lol its easy saying these things but actually sticking to it is so tough.. but then again, you have to really want it, and i guess i dont want it that bad, where as arnie did, i still look a lot better though, not as big as arnie, but im happy with the way i look now, but its so true what they say, the harder you work, the better the reward, but im satisfied how i look right now, where as arnie wanted more

  • Yes, big muscles, tiny balls. Ha only joking, he was the first modern day body builder

  • This film clip of Arnold doing barbell curls was filmed in 1967 at the old town hall Stratford E15

  • you know guys, he is the angle of bodybuilding and he is the bodybuilders father also mine

  • are you kiding , hes curling 205 lbs, lets see you do that ill even let you cheat like arnold

  • 200lbs (90kg) to be exact. But yeah, 98% of the people in the gym would not be able to handle that weight, not even for 1 rep whilst doing the limbo dancer. Arnold is using the cheating method, but he's in full control of the barbell, evidenced by the cadence & ballisticity his elbow joint is working the full range of motion.

Normally strongmen, Powerlifters, Olympic weightlifters can train with that weight for reps.

  • @Farshad86 Drug free, no. Juicers, hell yes(i.e. Arnie)

  • @4inches4u I disagree, there are those who can curl that amount of weight naturally, we call them natural "freaks" aka "Strongmen", not your average joe.

Even tho Arnold had all the right attributes to become successful at bodybuilding e.g. (good bone structure, awesome mass and muscle-shape), Arnold at the height of his career could still not match the strength of todays strongmen athletes, "Strongmen/Powerlifters" are a different breed.

  • @Farshad86

"arnold is using the cheating method", you can say that again.

Let's see him try it WITHOUT steroids.

  • @steroidsR4losers i think i speak on behalf of every weightlifting/gym/healthy liftyle enthusiast on the planet, when i say you are a complete cunt that is going to get nowhere in life

  • @Farshad86 full range of motion doesnt mean anything if portions of it are at less than the force created by the moment- the weight acting on the lever. Arnold is manipulating this moment by cheating- meaning he can apply more moment at certain points, and less at others. this makes the concept of full ROM irrelevent.

  • @Farshad86 Clueless.

275 pounds exactly. Not 200 pounds. Arnold's arms were way too strong to need to cheat curl "only" 200 pounds.

Read Arnold's encyclopedia book. He stated he bicep curled 275 pounds (125 kg) for 3 cheat reps. It has been fully documented.

Arnold regularly used 90 - 135 pounds dumbells for bicep curls and 8 - 10 reps. There is no way he would have to cheat curl a 200 pounds barbell. In his prime, his arms were way too strong to need to cheat curl only 200 pounds.

  • @SpeedKlz Ding, Ding....the wake up call is sounding, dude. He is NOT at his peak here, this was several years before his peak (both muscle & strength wise).

Well, there you have it, right infront of your eyes. Evidently he is struggling very hard to curl the barbell (90kg). I'm not refuting the numbers that you're stating, maybe he could train with these poundages at his prime (1972-1975).

  • In this clip he is undeniably 'cheat curling': 2x20kg+2x15kg+barbell(20kg) = 90kg (200lbs). Which is darn impressive regardless of who does it, which you would have understood if you ever touched a barbell.

  • @Farshad86 AMEN!!

  • @Farshad86

I have live film clips were Svend Karlsen is doing the same exercise with 225 lbs (100 kg)

only 17 years of age !! :) and you can see it in the film "Svend Karlsen A life in Power" :)

  • the footage isn't of training but of doing a personal record for show with 100 kilos, which can hardly be curled any other way ;)

  • what a stud\
