  • You cannot use a hair dryer because it does not get hot enough to melt the powder. We make a heat gun for this purpose. It is called Inkssentials Heat It Craft Tool. You can find it by doing a Google search.

  • Are you using a hair dryer?... I 've tried mine but it does not work; the powder doesn't stick on my cardstock!!!

  • You can use any color of distress ink.

  • Do you have to use the clear distress ink? Will it work if you use any other color?

  • Love your work!

  • Love your work!

  • thanks! Advice on powder flecks? I get powder all around and about the paper and stamp image! makes my projects look messy :(

  • Hey Tim! I'm a new Scrapbooker (but very addicted) and bought a couple of your Distress Inks. They're brand new, and I tryied using them, but the stamping tool doesn't get much of the ink, and when I use it on the paper the ink disappears from the blending tool very quickly. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you very much!

  • i love all of ranger products!! I recently got the Heat-It tool!! Its AWESUM! :)) thanks for the cool techniques/

  • Hi Ranger, a small question : could I do this thecnic on wood ? Thx & Rgds.

  • @kenwort1000 Yes, you can use Distress Powder on wood.

  • what's the name of the stamp? I love it and I want to have it!!!

  • @wonnisim That is a Stampers Anonymous Stamp called Carte Postale.

  • cool where do you buy the craft sheet????? i hope you make more videos cause they really help.

  • I don't know if anybody can help me, I bought a set of tim holtz's clear stamps (Urban Grunge) on ebay, but they actually have quite a strong smell to them, can anybody tell me if that's normal, because this is my first tim holtz stamp set so I wouldn't know if they are usually like that...

  • @CraftsDotCupCake they really shouldn't have a strong smell, but polymer does have a smell that will go away once out of the package for a while. thanks

  • @timholtz Oh Thank you so much for reasuring me, I was really worried that I might have been sold a fake, in which case I would need to report the seller.. :) But that's a relief! I'm really not bothered about the smell, the concern was whether or not the product was genuine!!! :)

  • what colour is that embossing powder?

  • @neverendingcycle Tim is using is Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powder.

  • Ohhh this helped alot!! I bought a bottle of the embossing powder and i thought i did something wrong!! THANKS!!!

  • I have all Distress Ink Pads and any Distress powders. It is fantastic to work with it. Your style is great and you inspired us - thanks!

  • I too am collecting Tim Holtz products. I already have now 8 distress ink pads and just purchased some perfect pearls by Tim and I got my heat gun from Michaels a while back it's made from Marvy Uchida it gets extremely hot, you can like see the coils turn red and everything.

  • I just bought some distress embossing powder for the first time and glad I watched this before I used it or I would have made some wrong assumptions. Very helpful.

  • I shall have to get some of this type powder too- I have some of the glossy stuff just working up to getting brave enough to try it out but THIS looks wonderful for many types of art around the house, not just cards.

  • Cool, i need a heat tool !!!

  • I didn't realize that all Distressed Ink was also Embossing Ink.

Has anyone else done embossing with regular Distressed Ink?

  • Tim you are so awesome! Love you, your style and products! I am just getting started with the distressing techniques and would love to know where to get the craft sheets.

  • Great video Tim. I love that you said "scrap paper" instead of 'scratch paper', thank you!!

  • still a little intimidated w/embossing, but this video really helps. Tim, you make it look so easy! I'm going to start collecting the distressing items and a heat tool and we'll see what happens. Thanks!!!

  • These are totally my favorite powders! I use 'normal' occasionally, but I used to always wreck them. I am so happy that you can't wreck the distressing ones! Love that tag!
