Durruti is misquoted in this movie. For instance in the movie he says, I say that if it's necessary, we'll impose an iron discipline(on the anarchist militias), which is false. What Durruti really said was:

If the militarization being introduced by the Generalidad is supposed to intimidate us and impose an iron discipline upon us, it is sadly mistaken, and we invite the authors of the decree to travel up to the front to gauge our morale and our cohesiveness:

you'd know nothing about the principle of anarchism, sure we anarchist do have personalities with a certain way of expressing thoughts and ideas in a convincing way, as well as we have personalities that carries them out. but as anarchist we don't just swallow, we read, we think , "is this still up to date?" can this work in our/my precent situation. We don't follow anyone blindly. We make the decisions ourselves.

ok, ok...I've been wondering that myself. I know the Communists seemed to have betrayed the Anarchists and the Revolution, but I don't know Durruti's role in this. I will do some research and see if I can come up with some more facts. Any help is welcome!

There have been some oral testimonies from people who lived through the war that Durruti had a group of prostitutes executed because they refused to leave the front. I read that in "Defying male civilization : women in the Spanish Civil War" by Mary Nash, but there isn't much more information about it in there. Just a footnote.

Have mispreceived something; why is this drama portryaing Durruti as though he were an anarchist equivalant to Trotsky. He was one of the few anarchists to reject the idea of the popular front and along with some others et up the council of aragon, untill it smashed by the Stalinists. Again am I missing something.

Well Trotsky and Durruti are similar in that they both purged moderates from their party and were willing to do anything, including committ assassinations and "reigns of terror" to crush their enemies.

Bull! The Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT)"moderates" split with the CNT due to a schism with the Federación Anarquista Ibérica's(FAI) over strategy. After which the "moderates" went on to form their own party, they were not ever jailed or assassinated by the FAI as likely they would have been by the Bolsheviks.
