In the downtime before the next book comes out, I highly recommend you check out 'A Murder of Crows', a gritty, character-driven fantasy by Alexandre J. Wynne. Not quite as good as Martin, but it's tiding me over while I wait : )
I doubt it. Doran Martell's plan is to bring Danerys back to the throne. Also, they're children so I doubt that Martin would make them play such an important role in the next book. It's annoying enough having to put up with Arya's POVs in my opinion without adding two more.
@CampionX personally I like Arya's cause it shows the underside of the world. I can't stand Bran's and Sansa's at all(maybe Sansa a little bit when she was in Arryn) but the best POV characters are and were Eddard Stark, Jaime Lannister, Tyrion, Jon Snow, Danerys, and occasionally Samwell Tarly.

When they revealed his plans at the end of book 4 i was totally shocked and so excited for the next book! I know dance with dragons is the other half of the last book, but i hope it goes a little further down chronologically :)
Yea, I was shocked as well when Doran Martell revealed his plans at the end of A Feast for Crows. I hated him before that because I thought he was just a spineless weakling who didn't want to upset the Lannisters. But, now I actually want to read from his POV or at least from someone near him.

Jon Snow obviously has the most important (and ironically least interesting) plotline - where is off facing the ultimate uncompromising evil (rather than being intertwined in the interesting politics/events that are character driven like most everone else).
And yes, Dany borders on being cliche too, but she's either going to get railed by Jon Snow or end up being really evil, hopefully the second one.

I think HBO has the best chance of doing it justice; 1 book per season. A 2 hour movie would be a disaster.
The only thing that worries me is, after the first book, the later books become so massive in scale as to be near impossible budget-wise for a tv series. Too many locations, and too many armies. Unless they do a cheap looking CGI job.
The level of detail required for the scenes was reached years ago and with better tools and cheaper processing power the costs of CGI have but one way to go, down.
There will be no movie! However HBO are making a tv series, start shooting in northern Ireland in october. Looks great so far. Peter Dinklage is to play Tyrion.

Watching the 5 pics of Rhaegar, it really hits home that this is one of the saddest books I've ever read. Good people die who didn't have to because of a misspoken word or a misunderstanding, and so much sadness happens afterwards that can never be undone. It's such a beautiful story it's painful, especially because it all started from a misunderstanding that got a by all accounts peaceful man (Rhaegar) killed over a woman.
I was never a big fan of Rhaegar the man, I'm a Lannister fan. Though Rhaegar's character definitely is one of the most crucial of the series. Their are still a lot of questions left unanswered about his involvement with Lyanna.
By the way, why not include a little list describing each picture. Some of them are obvious (1:38, for example, is Robert slaying Rhaegar) however that would still help.

Watching the 5 pics of Rhaegar, it really hits home that this is one of the saddest books I've ever read. Good people die who didn't have to because of a misspoken word or a misunderstanding, and so much sadness happens afterwards that can never be undone. It's such a beautiful story it's painful, especially because it all started from a misunderstanding that got a by all accounts peaceful man (Rhaegar) killed over a woman.

I was never a big fan of Rhaegar the man, I'm a Lannister fan. Though Rhaegar's character definitely is one of the most crucial of the series. Their are still a lot of questions left unanswered about his involvement with Lyanna.

By the way, why not include a little list describing each picture. Some of them are obvious (1:38, for example, is Robert slaying Rhaegar) however that would still help.
