Diesels have much steeper gears than your truck, so it uses that much more power to get to a certain speed. More power than it takes you to do it. 2. I'm sure that you know the outcome of most races is dependent on driver skill. Maybe you were a better driver. But the fact is that any American heavy duty pickup possesses more pore power than your truck could ever dream of. Even the Ford trucks.
@DirtyRam50 There's quite a few X-runners with well over 400HP atleast one @ 500 on the nose. For a 4.0 V6 that's pretty damn good. Lets see a diesel that small produce that much. It's not all about HP dude. There are many more things to consider. Most off all the power to weight ratio, where your smoker falls short. And as for your gearing theory, that's just a copout and you know it. Most diesles have LOWER gear ratios to aide in gettin those fat ass tanks rollin. But keep on truckin cleatus.

You could put high 3s in an HD truck and it would move just fine, it would just tow like your truck. Meaning not well at all. And I would love to see a 500 hp tacoma last 1,000,000 miles. But you're right HP isn't everything, with diesels; it's about torque. LOTS of torque.

well hondas definately have the most reliable engines. ridgeline also looks like it has the most interior space. nissan easily has the best overall styling in its car lineup of the japs and i dont get why the japs make so many ugly cars. the skyline is a stunning muscle/exotic car.

Plus the cab is connected to the bed. There is no space beteween the cab and the bed like regular pickups. So i classify it as more of an SUV. Not a car, nor a truck.
